(https://lnkd.in/eTbViFQt) In the build-up to the meeting I asked Orly Ardon to share some thoughts on the future of digital pathology. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: Digital pathology is here to stay and is becoming an integral aspect of pathology. In the coming years, there will be more adoption by additional laboratories and institutions of all sizes which will further lead to an increase in the potential market opportunity. This will further drive additional development of hardware and software solutions that will accommodate the growing demand for new and better technological solutions. 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬: All pathologists should start familiarizing themselves and become increasingly comfortable with digital pathology technologies. Only once pathologists can see the benefits and the immense impact that digital pathology can offer to their unique practice needs, they will experiment and then transition to fully digital workflows. Lyubomir Karadzhov Febrina Zakaria Scott Taylor Nick Noakes I enjoyed reconnecting with and hearing from many speakers including Se Jin Song about the exciting new horizon with personalized nutrition, particularly the upcoming NIH study Johanna Maukonen about the differences in a unique type of Akkermansia for metabolic health Jason Bush about the interesting effects on lipid metabolism from resistant starch clinical research Noah Zimmerman about the differences in our microbiomes and that not all of us can make microbial metabolites from prebiotics if we lack the gut microbes I enjoyed meeting and hearing about - the multi-level analysis showing the role of the gut-brain axis in autism spectrum disorder from James Morton - the potential for prebiotics to support gut immune microbiome brain axis disorders from Alexander Martinez - the Microbiome Alliance for Disease Prevention from Cassandra Isley, MT(ASCP) - the microbiome in ALS, an understudied area, from Jun Sun and looking forward to seeing everyone continue to advance important research in this field to help people from all walks of life and all types of health.
