Who does the USA fear the most? China! Who has recently put a Rocket on the other side of the moon? India! Which two countries have done most to implement Japanese TQM? China and India. Donald Trump is trying to encourage the world to boycott China. I think he has got this wrong. His problem with China is the fact that they have taken over Markets all over the world. How have they done that? If you dig deep you will find that much of it is down to copying the system of management origininated in Japan following WW2 where an Island race, almost completely obliterated in the last months of the war, in not more than 10 years later had become the third largest economy in the world and it is still up there. Surely it would make more sense for Trump to learn and apply the same principles rather than simply attempt to destroy something just because it is better than what he has? Well worth a read. If you think you don't have enough time or enough people then take a read and give it a go. You start with only willing volunteers working for one hour a week to produce problem statements/proposals. You build from there. I regard membership of both ILSSI and GET to be a blessing. To be associated with these two communities, both of wbich are populated by people I thoroughly respect for both the depth of their knowledge, competence and cameraderie is a reassuring feeling.
