𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐄𝐥𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐟𝐞! For Christmas 2024, we introduced a small fee for our Mrs Claus storytelling sessions. While ensuring it remained accessible to as many families as possible, we aimed to make the event more meaningful by supporting Cambridge Carbon Footprint. Together we managed to raise over £4100 in December and this money will help Cambridge Carbon Footprint to take more community actions on climate change in our area in 2025 (Repair Cafes, thermal imaging camera training and loan schemes, Open Eco Homes, Imaginariums and more). It also enabled a very unique Repair Cafe over the festive season - in the spirit of making Christmas more circular we introduced the Elf Repair Cafe. Clever elves took over our Mrs Claus’ grotto to repair and restore decorations, toys, and all sorts of objects for free. We even got some help from Millers Music elves to repair music instruments. Thanks to everyone involved! 🎥 Adrienn Timea Rusz 🎵 @isaintjames #LetsGoCircular #MrsClaus #Cambridge #RepairCafe #CircularEconomy #CircularInitiative

Grand Arcade closed 2024 with remarkable achievements that highlight its role as a leading retail destination: 🌟 An 8.5% increase in footfall during the festive season, with a peak of 70,000 visitors on 14 December – the busiest day in five years! This growth stands out against the national trend, where footfall fell by 2.8% over the same period. ♻ Let’s Go Circular campaign received four awards, including national recognition from REVO and the international Green Apple Environment awards. With input from 60 organisations and over 800 hours of interactive content, it is the UK’s first shopping centre campaign aimed at promoting the principle of a Circular Economy and has gone from strength to strength since 2022. 👏 Exciting New Tenants: from Beyond Retro’s vintage offerings to Everyman’s taste of luxury, Miele's innovative experience centre, and B-Corp retailers Rituals and SCAMP & DUDE, these new additions have been drawing shoppers from across the region. Centre Manager Martin Macwhinnie summed it up perfectly: “To say it’s been a big year for Grand Arcade is an understatement”.
