About us
Green Tutors provide award winning tutoring and academic coaching to GCSE and A level students. Our qualified STEM specialist tutor team inspire our students to pursue their STEM dreams. One to one, or small group sessions have been scientifically proven to short cut the learning journey by several months. They are also a massive boost to confidence. With the STEM Stories podcast, we're helping to raise the profile of STEM careers. STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths, and is a growing and exciting field sadly lacking in female graduates. We work to build your child’s confidence, self-esteem, and their independence, teaching them effective self-study methods that they can carry into their higher education. Our primary responsibility is to the student. In meeting their individual needs, we hold ourselves accountable for high quality. We make efforts to understand each student as an individual and to treat them with respect. We learn what motivates them, and what holds them back, and use that to build a study plan they can stick to with the support of our tutor team. Our tuition is designed to give them a fair opportunity to achieve their full potential. Georgina has been tutoring since school, and running Green Tutors since March 2011, working with over 100 students alongside recruiting and training a fantastic team of tutors. Georgina also coaches independent tutors to build their business online.

As the year winds down, I’ve been reflecting on the challenges I’ve faced and the strides I’ve made in my work as an educator and advocate for STEM learning. This year, more than any before, has taught me to look at education through fresh eyes—embracing new ideas, listening to diverse voices, and leaning into the kind of growth that happens when you step out of your comfort zone. I’ve realised that my passion isn’t just about helping students “get through” their studies. It’s about finding new pathways to ignite their curiosity, supporting them through unexpected challenges, and celebrating the small wins that lead to big moments of understanding. Each conversation, conference, and collaboration has helped shape how I’ll approach the future—more creatively, more empathetically, and with a focus on nurturing each learner’s unique strengths. As I look ahead, I’m excited to keep pushing the boundaries, exploring innovative ways to connect with students, and working alongside an incredible community of educators and parents who share this vision. But for me, it’s something much deeper—it’s about confidence, curiosity, and unlocking potential. Let me tell you about two incredible students who embody this transformation. 🌟 Meet Erinn When Erinn first came to me, she was 7 years old and overwhelmed by anxiety, especially during maths tests. Sitting on the floor with her and the family cat, we worked through one problem at a time. Slowly, her confidence grew. By secondary school, she was raising her hand in class—a huge leap for her. Fast forward a few years: Erinn went on to study A-levels in maths and science, followed by a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and a Master's in Chemical Engineering. Once too shy to believe in herself, she’s now an accomplished young scientist shaping her own future. 💬 Erinn’s words: “Thank you so much for helping me believe I could do this. I wouldn’t have made it without you.” 🌟 Meet Daisy Daisy’s journey started with challenges, too—she had been recently diagnosed with ADHD and struggled with focus and confidence. Together, we broke lessons into manageable chunks, added movement breaks, and used tools like AI to make note-taking easier. What started as hesitant answers turned into lively discussions about her favourite topics. Daisy’s newfound confidence helped her succeed at GCSEs and step into Sixth Form, where she’s now exploring digital media, health, and criminology. 💬 Daisy’s mum: “You’ve helped her through some challenging times and boosted her confidence immensely.” These stories remind me why I love STEM education. It’s not just about learning; it’s about empowerment. STEM teaches us to solve problems, explore possibilities, and embrace the joy of discovery.
