Last week we officially launched our latest Electric Forecourt® ⚡️ We celebrated the opening of Stevenage Electric Forecourt® in electric style with an Oasis tribute act 🎸. Supernova wowed guests with classics such as She’s Electric, almost 30 years after the legendary band held two record-breaking concerts to 250,000 people at the famous music venue on the same site and a year ahead of their much-anticipated reunion tour. Located off junction 7 of the busy A1(M), you’ll find 30 new charging bays at the entrance of the famous Knebworth House Estate. The facility will provide visitors, festivalgoers, staff and local communities around the historic estate and in the wider Hertfordshire area the confidence to go electric. Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) are one of the most crucial pieces of the puzzle in the transition to becoming a net zero economy in the UK by 2050 ⚡️ At the heart of supporting the move to electric vehicles lies the ZEV mandate. This is not only essential for reducing the carbon footprint of the transport sector but also for driving the investment that will allow us to build the charging network the country needs. Without clear and steady growth targets for EV adoption, the commercial viability of such investments is uncertain. The ZEV mandate mitigates some of the financial risk in a young and growing sector by giving investor confidence through this government commitment, as well as supporting growing utilisation today. The government’s clear commitment to the ZEV transition ensures that investment in charging infrastructure is not a gamble, but rather a long-term, sustainable opportunity. Read more about our position on the importance of the ZEV mandate in this piece from our Executive Chairman, Roy Williamson 👉 https://bit.ly/4fDLzMS

Liam? Noel? Is that you? ⚡️🎸 We brought a couple of familiar faces back to electrify Knebworth Estate at an exclusive gig powered by electric vehicles to mark the opening of the new Stevenage Electric Forecourt® on the A1(M). Oasis tribute act Supernova wowed guests with classics such as "She’s Electric", almost 30 years after the legendary band held two record-breaking concerts to 250,000 people at the famous music venue on the same site and a year ahead of the much-anticipated reunion tour. All powered by a Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60 using vehicle-to-load technology, which lets you power electronic devices from the car’s battery via a three-pin plug socket in the vehicle. Supernova were able to plug in amps, microphones and lights to juice up their performance, which kicked off with the famous wall of sound that started the Knebworth concerts in 1996 and ended with the classic Wonderwall, via a unique version of She’s Electric. Is this the future of shopping? 🤩✨ Our new Little Fresh store has now opened at our Stevenage Electric Forecourt®. And it’s powered by Amazon’s futuristic ‘Just Walk Out’ technology! Little Fresh is now available at all of our Electric Forecourts® with Stevenage being the second to adopt this incredible technology following success at our London Gatwick location. Simply tap your contactless payment card or smartphone wallet when entering the shop and grab what you need. The technology detects what you take from, or return to, store shelves, creating a virtual shopping cart. Then you just walk out! No waiting in line, and the card you used on entry will simply be charged. It is made possible by clever artificial intelligence (AI) such as computer vision and deep-learning techniques, including generative AI, to accurately determine who took what in any retail environment. Amazon built synthetic datasets to mimic millions of realistic shopping scenarios - including variations in store format, lighting conditions, and even crowds of shoppers - to ensure accuracy in any environment. Pretty cool stuff really! Why not check it out for yourself at the Stevenage Electric Forecourt®? ⚡️ Find out more about our newest Electric Forecourt® here 👉 https://bit.ly/4fBdX1D
