Such wonderful news! 🎉 FutureIN Property & Construction is a highly supportive initiative that collaborates effectively with the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority through the Paid Internships Programme.

FutureIN Property & Construction is delighted to report that, with the support from the project, Jacob and his family moved into their very first home together this week. From being homeless, Jacob is now working full-time as a trainee joiner through FutureIN and TrAC Apprenticeships in a placement with the team at PML. Thanks to this support Jacob's life has completely turned around and bears testimony to the fantastic impact that the FutureIN project is having on the lives of individuals in Cambridge. Congratulations Jacob and thank you to all at PML for supporting FutureIN and helping us make a real difference!

🌟 Exciting news for our region! Our region has been chosen as one of only eight areas in England to receive trailblazer funding to help more young people to ‘earn and learn’ as part of the Government’s new Get Britain Working White Paper. Yesterday, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Liz Kendall, visited Peterborough College to unveil the Get Britain Working White Paper, a £240 million initiative to tackle economic inactivity and create life-changing opportunities for young people and adults. As one of only eight trailblazer areas in England, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will receive funding to help young people at risk of falling out of education or employment. This investment will support skills training, work experience, and pathways into careers, building on the Combined Authority’s ongoing efforts to break down barriers and unlock potential. The White Paper also includes a new Youth Guarantee, ensuring every 18-21-year-old in England has access to quality training, education, or employment opportunities. In addition, the Connect to Work programme will focus on supporting economically inactive adults, such as those with disabilities or health challenges, with a tailored, collaborative approach to employment and skills development. Dr Nik Johnson, Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, captured the significance of this initiative: “The ‘Get Britain Working’ package will be transformational in breaking down barriers to good quality employment. Through local knowledge and partnerships, we can deliver opportunities that truly change lives, providing access to education, training, and work – and the independence and purpose that come with it.” This funding is a major step forward in creating a lifelong learning culture, connecting individuals with opportunities to grow, thrive, and contribute to our economy and communities. Small and medium businesses in Cambridge now have an incredible opportunity to tap into new talent with support from Cambridge City Council , the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority and Growth Works with Skills. Through the Cambridge Levy Pooling Service, this partnership is helping SMEs and not-for-profits access funding for apprenticeships, enabling them to build their teams and grow the local economy. By transferring a portion of its apprenticeship levy, the council is helping organisations develop in-house skills and talent. One success story comes from Famille, a Cambridge-based Marketing and Communications agency. With support from this scheme, Famille welcomed Naomi Taylor, who earned her Level 3 Apprenticeship in Creative Content at Access Creative College. Naomi’s role has been a huge asset to the agency, boosting their digital marketing and content capabilities. Naomi said: “The apprenticeship was the perfect foundation for my career, providing practical experience and confidence to break into digital media. With support from my tutors and colleagues, I quickly progressed from a junior content producer to a content creator.” 📈 By investing in apprenticeships, we’re investing in Cambridgeshires future. If you’re an individual, business or organisation looking to grow this could be the perfect chance to get involved! 🎨✨ Celebrating National Creativity Week with Enterprise in Action! ✨🎨 This week, we’re proud to highlight two of our impactful enterprise initiatives: Inspire 2 Ignite CIC and the Careers Hub Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Together, they’ve launched the ‘Curious About Creativity’ programme, bringing enterprise education to 10 special schools across the region over the coming months. The bespoke programme offers young people a unique insight into employability through the exciting lens of creativity and business. 🌟 Last week: The Inspire 2 Ignite CIC Team visited Samuel Pepys Academy in St Neots. Students explored the fundamentals of enterprise, designed tote bags, printed them, and even brainstormed ideas for potential product lines. 🌟 Today: The team is at Riverside Meadows Academy, with fantastic support from enterprise advisers Rachel N. and Clare Bing of KIER Construction. The focus? Digital marketing strategies and promoting products online! We’re inspired by the energy, innovation, and enthusiasm of the young people involved. This is what creativity and enterprise in action look like! 💡 Shoutout to the incredible team: Mark Hawking, Mark Richards, Debbie Longhurst, and Alvina Morey for making it all happen. #NationalCreativityWeek #CuriousAboutCreativity #EnterpriseEducation #InspireToIgnite #CPCA #CareersHub #CreativityInAction #FutureLeaders
