How to monitor heat pump efficiency? 📊 In the world of heat pumps, there is a lot of talk about efficiency, Coefficient of Performance (COP) and Seasonal Performance Factor (SPF). However, most heat pump installations lack the technology to accurately calculate these values, and any onboard data may not be easy to find. 📈Monitoring a heat pump's efficiency involves measuring its electricity usage and heat production. Currently, electricity submetering of heat pumps is not an installation requirement, so their electricity usage is not always known. Guru Systems Ltd.' Smart Heat Pumps project, supported by Heat Pump Ready, has developed an interface that makes data collection more accessible and affordable for housing providers when managing a fleet of heat pumps. Guru's technology captures both the SPF and the COP at any given time to quickly identify fluctuations or variations in the system's efficiency and ensure corrective action when necessary.
