Thanks to Scottish Venison, the body that represents Scotland’s venison producers and processors, working with us in the Kitchen Theatre at The Scottish Game Fair, along with Ardgay Game and Perthshire Game. Venison is healthy and sustainable, it delivers so many benefits - economic, social and environmental. Venison in the diet reduces carbon and promotes biodiversity recovery - and we’ve eaten it long before other meat from domestic livestock. So, eating venison is important - but telling someone about why they should be eating venison is important too, which is what will be happening in the Kitchen Theatre.

Knowing where our food comes from is an increasing concern. Are farmers being paid properly? How can consumers find fresh, local produce? This podcast episode broadcast by our sponsors Waverton Investment Management discusses the issue. Alexandra Buchan-Heelas and Tom Saville are joined by Nick Jefferson, Founder and CEO of Wylde Market, an online farmer’s market that delivers groceries to your door. They discuss the flaws in traditional food distribution systems and the exploitation of farmers by large supermarkets. Nick highlights his company's approach: an online marketplace that allows producers to sell fresh, local produce directly to consumers, setting their own prices. He believes this model promotes better quality food, fairer prices for producers, and encourages sustainable and seasonal consumption. Wylde Market Listen below.
