Just a quick reminder that our next Halex Consulting CoSec Forum for #CoSecs and governance professionals is planned for 9am, Friday 6th September. The topic will be the Risk Coalition’s new leading practice cross-sector guidance, ‘Raising your Game’. This new risk governance guidance is aimed at boards and the committee that oversees risk. As such, it should make required reading for board and audit committee chairs. While the guidance is currently out for public consultation, we want to provide our CoSec Forum members an opportunity to get an early view of the final guidance, discuss its potential implications for your organisation and ask questions directly of me, its principal author. Is your annual internal review of board and committee performance adequately rigorous? If it’s just a Googled list of board effectiveness questions, what does that say about your boardroom culture?

How best to tackle board dysfunction? Sometimes using an outside perspective can help ‘put the fish on the table’ (thanks to our Belgian friends for that one!).

An interesting angle here is that companies that choose to adopt the Risk Coalition’s new guidance, Raising your Game, are likely to have a high level of confidence in making their Provision 29 attestation.
