  • A massive THANK YOU to Rachel Gray and the incredible team at Middlesbrough College - Adult + Community Learning and Partnership for making this magical day possible. Your kindness and hard work created unforgettable memories for the ladies and their families this Christmas. 💕🎁 Here’s what some of our amazing ladies had to say about the experience: 💬 “Seeing Santa 🎅 is like believing in magic—it reminds us that the most wonderful things ✨ are often only seen with our hearts. 💕 No matter how old we are, there’s always a little child inside us, holding onto joy, innocence, and hope.” 💬 “From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the beautiful gift—it brought so much happiness to my Christmas. Wishing you a season full of joy, peace, and love.” 💬 “Seeing Santa felt like stepping into a dream—the twinkle in his eye and his warm smile made the moment magical. Yesterday, we held the final session of our Halo SOS Forum for 2024. It was an inspiring day as we came together to discuss how Halo can continue to support the amazing women we serve as they transition out of our services and reintegrate into society. 💪💜 We also discussed exciting ideas for Circle of Friends 2025—a supportive peer group to help women stay connected and thrive. We're planning a year filled with empowerment and growth. 🌸✨ Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Halo SOS Forum journey this year 💕 #SOSForum #EmpoweringWomen #CircleOfFriends2025 #CommunitySupport #ThrivingTogether

  • Domestic abuse can happen to anyone—regardless of age, class, religion, gender, or race. However, women from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities face unique and complex challenges that often heighten their risk and limit their ability to seek safety and justice. Sign our petition to show your support: https://lnkd.in/eAEBbQs9 For many BME women, the fight against abuse is compounded by: 🌍 Cultural and religious dynamics that may discourage speaking out or leaving abusive relationships. 🚫 External barriers such as racism, social and institutional bias, and ignorance of cultural nuances. 🛑 Immigration status, which can leave them without recourse to public funds, making it impossible to afford necessities if they leave. 💔 Specific forms of violence such as forced marriage, FGM, honour-based violence, and dowry abuse. 🔗 Isolation due to language barriers, cultural traditions, or community pressures, which can leave women without the support they need to escape. For women with unsettled immigration status, the risks are even higher. Without access to public funds, they are often forced to choose between enduring abuse and homelessness. Systemic gaps in understanding and supporting these women exacerbate their marginalisation, leaving many trapped in dangerous situations. Every woman deserves to live free from abuse. This 16 Days of Activism, let’s highlight the challenges faced by BME women and work together to create a system that supports, empowers, and protects all survivors. #16DaysOfActivism #EndDomesticAbuse #BMEWomen #SupportSurvivors #BreakTheSilence

  • Hear from a survivor of harassment and stalking after leaving an abusive relationship. “After I ended my relationship with my ex-husband, he couldn’t accept it. His obsession turned into a relentless nightmare. He flooded my inbox with abusive messages and threats, echoing the cultural stigma that punishes women in our community who dare to leave a marriage. He stalked me, following my every move, and I felt like I was constantly being watched. I couldn’t go anywhere without the fear that he would appear. I turned to my family for support, but they told me I shouldn’t have left him. When I reported him to the police, they said there was little they could do without physical evidence or immediate danger. Each time I felt ignored, I sank deeper into despair, trapped in a nightmare with no end in sight. I longed for the freedom to live without looking over my shoulder.” No one should have to live in fear. Let’s raise awareness and support survivors who are fighting for their right to live freely. #HearHerStory #AmplifyHerStory #EmpowerEducateEradicate #16DaysOfActivism #BreakingTheSilence SIGN OUR PETITION: https://lnkd.in/eAEBbQs9
