After a decade of sitting in awe of the academic talent brought together at the Hertie School, I am beyond thrilled (and slightly intimidated) to have been invited to discuss "The EU's Human Rights Responsibility Gap" (Hart Publishing) co-hosted by the Jacques Delors Centre and the Centre for Fundamental Rights - Hertie School 🤩 📅 11 March 2025 @13:30-15:00 🌍 Berlin and on-line 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ehyfWqQy Come join us!

I'm pleased to share that my new introduction to #ClimateLitigation has just been published by Bloomsbury Publishing Plc Hart Publishing. "Major Cases in Climate Law: A Critical Introduction" introduces readers to major rulings from around the world that centre on climate change as a core focus. In addition to including general considerations, discussion, and analysis of major climate cases, the book engages with specific case studies rooted in the UK, Nigeria, Colombia, Australia, the Netherlands, and Ireland. With foreword reflections from Justice Brian Preston, Chief Judge of The Land and Environment Court of NSW. Special thanks for informative conversations and/or procedural support to: Alina Averchenkova, Dr Smith I. Shaun D. Pattinson has written a very insightful piece about academic writing and publishing - a must read for early career researchers!
‘Why do I write? How do I write? Where do I write? How do I carve out the time and space to write? Where do I find a place to write? How has my approach to writing changed? What is the value of writing in the contemporary scholarly context?’ These were the questions asked by Prof Mark Flear when he approached academics to write about writing. My response was this piece on my writing journey and the lessons that I’m still learning: ‘Writing for Publication: Inspiration and Perspiration’. Yuxin Li and Clara Martins Pereira kindly commented on an early draft. #Publishing, #Writing https://lnkd.in/eNNMbEbh
