We're thrilled to be announced as one of The Manchester Metropolitan University’s ‘Employers of Choice’ for 2025. 👏 We have worked closely with the university recently on various projects. Check out this great picture of Manchester’s skyline from the top of our new Island building, taken by a student at MMU. The list is filled with “outstanding organisations” who have “demonstrated a continuous commitment to providing opportunities for students and graduates growth and development” It’s an honour to be on this list alongside brands like JLR, Barclays, Hut Group, The and Manchester City Council, and the listing is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to supporting and nurturing future talent. 🎉 Big news from the charity committee! 🎉 At the end of 2024, our parent company, Henry Boot, gave £500 for each HBD region to support charities close to our hearts. In Manchester, we supported Booth Centre , while in London, the Marylebone Project was our chosen charity. Leeds saw contributions to St. George's crypt, and in Birmingham, we donated to St Basils. Glasgow's Kindness Homeless Street Team received our support, as did the West Cheltenham Community Pantry and Springbank Community Pantry in Cheltenham. Lastly, Sheffield chose Roundabout Ltd charity to receive the donation. It's been amazing to see the impact we've made in our communities with these donations and we look forward to continuing our support. 🎬 Lights, camera, action… We're thrilled to be teaming up with The SPACE-2 Group in Birmingham, using our Neighbourhood building as a creative hub for some amazing TV and film projects! Rather than leave the building empty, we collaborated with SPACE-2 to provide a temporary studio facility, operating under the Camden Street Studios, supporting the local economy and creative sector. The team has since been working their magic in our space, bringing to life recent hit ITV shows like DI Ray and Joan (if you haven’t seen them yet, get them added to your January watch list!). SPACE-2 builds creative ecosystems by partnering with landowners, property companies, and SMEs; we specifically worked with their film and production division. They’re all about sustainability too, which makes them a perfect match for HBD and matches up with our own commitment to ESG. By collaborating with SPACE-2, we're putting our Neighbourhood site to good use before it officially transforms into 414 stylish and eco friendly one, two, and three bedroom apartments and duplexes in the thriving Jewellery Quarter. Island, a joint venture between HBD and Greater Manchester Pension Fund, have donated 100 pandas to the children and babies of Manchester Children’s Hospital and hope to bring some Christmas spirit to the children and families who won’t be spending their Christmas at home. 🐼
