🌈 Today marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia, a day to stand united against discrimination and promote inclusivity. As Mental Health Awareness Week comes to a close, it's crucial to recognise the intersectionality between LGBTQ+ rights and mental health. Many in the LGBTQ+ community face disproportionate mental health challenges due to societal stigma and discrimination. 🌟 🧑🍳 We asked our teams to get involved by baking or buying cakes and pastries to bring into the office and wear bright/colourful clothing in support of Galop! 🏳️🌈 ⭐️ Galop is the UK's LGBT+ anti-abuse charity. They work with and for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse, including: domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, honour-based abuse, forced marriage, so-called conversion therapies and other forms of interpersonal abuse.🎗️ Please consider donating using the link 🔗👇 https://lnkd.in/ebbsga33 📜 One of our team members has beautifully captured their experience as part of the LGBTQIA+ community in a heartfelt poem (slide 2), which they have graciously allowed us to share anonymously. Let's pledge to create spaces of acceptance, support, and understanding for all individuals, fostering mental wellbeing and celebrating diversity. hashtag #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek 🏳️🌈💙

📣 This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and we thought we would bring you some simple actions you can do each day to help with your overall wellbeing 👇 🧘♀️ Practise Self-Care: Make self-care a priority by engaging in activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul. Whether it's taking a stroll in nature, practising meditation, or enjoying a hobby, carve out time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation. 🎗️ Reach Out for Support: Remember that it's okay to ask for help when you need it. Reach out to trusted friends, family members, or mental health professionals for support and guidance during challenging times. 😴 Prioritise Sleep: Adequate sleep is essential for overall mental health and well-being. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to feel refreshed and rejuvenated. 📵 Limit Screen Time: While technology has many benefits, excessive screen time can negatively impact mental health. Set boundaries around screen use and prioritise activities that promote face-to-face interactions and real-life connections. 🙏 Practise Gratitude: Cultivate an attitude of gratitude by reflecting on the positive aspects of your life. Start a gratitude journal, where you can write down three things you're grateful for each day, to shift your focus towards positivity. 💪 Stay Active: Regular physical activity has been shown to boost mood and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. Find activities that you enjoy, whether it's going for a walk, practising yoga, or dancing to your favourite music. 🧑💼 Seek Professional Help: If you're struggling with your mental health, don't hesitate to seek professional help. Therapists, counsellors, and psychiatrists are trained to provide support and guidance tailored to your individual needs. ⭐️ Remember, prioritising your mental health is essential for overall wellbeing. By incorporating these tips into your daily routine, you can take proactive steps towards a healthier and happier life. 🤗
