World leader in the design & manufacture of high accuracy sorption instruments. Celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2022
About us
Hiden Isochema is a world leader in the design and manufacture of gas and vapor sorption instrumentation for research, development and production applications in surface chemistry and materials science. We have been producing sorption measurement systems since 1992 when Hiden Analytical first began manufacturing the Intelligent Gravimetric Analyzer (IGA). Following a decade of continued success, Hiden Isochema was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Hiden Analytical in order to further specialize in the development and manufacture of sorption-specific instrumentation. Since then, we have expanded our product range to include unique climate control and manometric sorption systems, and we continue to strengthen our reputation for delivering high quality and versatile instrumentation while providing industry-leading levels of technical support.

The Exeter Hydrogen Storage Team had an amazing visit to Hiden Isochema Ltd in Warrington! As someone who’s relied on their innovative equipment throughout my career—from the IGA series, HTP (now IMI), to the XEMIS—it was fantastic to finally see where it all happens. Getting behind-the-scenes insights into the history and evolution of the technology that has supported my research in hydrogen energy was truly inspiring. A huge thank you to Hiden Isochema Ltd team, Darren Broom and Mark Roper for hosting us and sharing your expertise. Also, a special shoutout to EPoMM (Engineering Porous Materials at Multiple Scales) and the University of Exeter Limetree PhD Scholarship for their support in making this visit possible! Excited to keep pushing the boundaries of hydrogen storage technology with this amazing equipment! #HydrogenRevolution #EnergyStorage #InnovationInAction #HydrogenEnergy #Sustainability #ResearchExcellence #ThankYou #HidenIsochema #HydrogenFuture #EPoMM #UniversityofExeter

Last week we completed the installation and training of our new acquisition, the IGA-002. We believe it will be an indispensable piece for our lines of research, especially in the study of surface phenomena in different conditions, helping us to dive even deeper into this vast ocean called adsorption. We would like to thank Michael Harrison of Hiden Isochema Ltd for his proactiveness, efficiency and commitment to the installation and training. We would also like to thank the entire LabSolutions Brasil team, especially Eduardo Pimenta, for their efficiency and ease of communication. #adsorption #Engineering #chemical #search #development .

It was a pleasure for Hiden Isochema to be so involved in the 1st Conference on Engineering Porous Materials at Multiple Scales (#EPoMM_UK) at the University of Bath, UK, last week. Thanks to Chris Bowen, Alex O'Malley, and their team, for the great organisation!
Supporting hydrogen-related technologies with sustainable materials and innovative component design.
Having a great time at Engineering Porous Materials at Multiple Scales workshop (#EPoMM_UK) at the University of Bath. There has been a lot of interest in the work on porous carbons that I presented based on M Irfan Maulana Kusdhany (who is also attending) and Maryna Vorokhta’s projects. It’s also a fantastic excuse to visit former colleague George Harrington in the Chemistry Department. Currently sitting in Darren Broom’s excellent Keynote lecture polishing up my adsorption theory knowledge…

Happy to share our recent publication in Chemical Engineering Journal (CEJ). A new adsorbed phase activity coefficient model is presented that can be implemented to model nonideal adsorption behavior. The model is derived and shown to exhibit end behavior that is consistent with adsorption thermodynamics. Over 20 systems are collected from literature, which include adsorbents and adsorbates having various properties over a range of different temperatures and pressures. Four different thermodynamic consistency tests are used to confirm the quality of all adsorption data, the new model is fit to experimental activity coefficients, and both nonideal binary and ternary adsorption behavior is predicted with good accuracy. The possibility to develop predictive correlations for the model fitting parameters based on their theoretical basis is also discussed. New binary adsorption data are additionally presented across three different temperatures and two different pressures for HFC-125/HFC-32 with zeolite H-ZSM-5. The data were collected using a unique instrument that integrates a XEMIS microbalance from Hiden Isochema Ltd and a Dynamic Sampling Mass Spectrometer (DSMS) from Hiden Analytical, making it possible to implement the Integral Mass Balance (IMB) method. https://lnkd.in/gcNnnCXS
