  • It’s starting to feel a lot like... well, maybe we shouldn’t say it just yet! But we’re excited to announce this year’s Hilbre Christmas Markets on Sunday 1st December, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Join us for a variety of craft, food, and festive market stalls in our main hall and Mr. Herbert’s Activity Centre in the gym. Plus, Santa will be visiting in our enchanting Grotto! There’s something for everyone, and entry is free! Mark your calendars so you won’t miss this wonderful community event! *STALL HOLDERS* It is an indoor event again, in our school hall. We have standard school desks which are 2ft by 4ft. These desks are £15 each, or alternatively if you wish to bring your own Trestle table, they will be £30 each. If you are interested in a table at our Christmas Markets, please email warburtonr@hilbre.wirral.sch.uk with the following information: -Name -Contact details (email, number, Social Media Link) -What products you sell -How many school desks or Trestle tables you require -If you require power -Copy of your personal liability insurance We will review your application and contact you if you are successful, this is when payment details will be shared. Please provide us with information on what you will be selling so we can try our best to avoid any issues with identical stalls. There may be multiple crafts/jewellery/xmas gift stalls but we will let you know when you book. We're already excited for another great event!

  • We kicked off this week with an exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) assembly for our Year 8 students. During the assembly, we introduced our STEM coordinators and their support team, as well as our pupil STEM ambassadors. The session was both engaging and informative, and even showcased their impressive paper rocket launchers!

Wednesday was definitely a day of 2 halves and one of the reasons I love my job. No day is ever the same. I was privileged enough to be invited down to the prestigious Royal Liverpool Golf Club for a STEM day with Hilbre High School . The students were so engaged and asked some really insightful questions. The stations were fascinating and fun and that was largely down to the fantastic staff running the event. They were relatable, knowledgeable and honest about careers in green keeping and the international opportunities that come with it. • We've been raising funds to enrich our student experience at Hilbre. We asked our students what we could do in school to help this, and one of the most common answers was more outdoor seating for break and lunch times. We now have 20 new benches that will be placed around the school, including some quiet areas for our students to take a moment of reflection during their busy days. The money has been raised through events such as our school Markets and tuck shops, and will only be used for the benefit of our pupils. You can donate to our school and community fund on our website, or you can support us at our next Hilbre Christmas Markets on Sunday 1st December 11:30am - 2:30pm

  • Our students had a fantastic time, thanks for having us!

  • Last week we held our annual Open Evening and our walls were absolutely buzzing with hundreds of excited children and parents. The feedback from the parents was fantastic and it was great to celebrate Hilbre with so many prospective families, and even better to see so many people coming through the doors. A big well done to our student speakers who were not phased by the 400 faces staring back at them, and delivered well versed speeches about their journey at Hilbre so far.

      +1
  • *OPEN EVENING 2024* We're absolutely delighted to invite you to our annual Open Evening, which takes place on Thursday 26th September 5pm-8pm. This is your one opportunity to view the school site, to speak to subject leaders and to meet current students and find out what life is like here at Hilbre. We have guided tours available or, if you wish, you can wonder at your own leisure. There will be three Headteacher talks held in the main hall (at 5.15pm, 6pm and 6.45pm), so if you can't make one talk, you may make one of the other two. Refreshments will also be available, and our pastoral and SEND teams will be on hand to help with and enquiries. #Wirralschool #OpenEvening #secondaryschool #wirralopenevening
