Every mother deserves good mental health and the support and care they need during pregnancy and after childbirth. Yet Black mothers experience unique challenges that contribute to higher rates of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression and other mood disorders. They also face greater barriers to accessing mental health care.  It’s vital that their stories are heard and action is taken to tackle the mental health disparities Black mothers face. Yet too often, their experiences are overlooked and under addressed.   That's why we're supporting Black Maternal Mental Health Week  #BMMHW24 

Home-Start Barnet, Brent and Harrow is seeking a number of new Trustees to join our Board, to offer strategic support and direction. We're interested in individuals with experience of working in leadership roles, finance, communications or HR. In particular, we would like candidates with a good grasp of governance, financial management and compliance as they relate to charities, and the role of trustees in ensuring this. We are very committed to developing a diverse board that is representative of the local families we work with and understand the complex challenges many of them face. Previous experience of being a trustee is welcome but not necessary – we can provide a thorough induction and support for those wishing to gain their first trustee role. To apply, provide your CV and a Supporting Statement (no more than one A4 page) that sets out why you are interested in this role and highlights the experiences and qualities you believe make you suitable.
