Home Support Matters is proud to be part of the Norfolk & Waveney Later Life Provider Network (LLPN), a partnership of organisations that deliver services, or support to people aged 50+ locally. The network aims to promote the needs and experiences of later life, using its expertise and the views and experiences of older people, to help shape and design local services that enable healthy ageing. The LLPN recently asked over 50s for their views on local transport. Transport is an enabler, helping people remain independent, healthy, active and connected, particularly in later life. It’s a key pillar of an age friendly society, as promoted by the World Health Organisation, and with Norfolk & Waveney having one of the oldest populations in the country, it’s something we need to protect and improve. Local residents didn’t hold back when telling us their views on transport - the good, the bad and the ugly! We’ve written a report outlining the results, and recommendations for making transport in Norfolk & Waveney more #AgeFriendly The aim of the report is to influence decision makers and prompt change. We want to work with councils, the Integrated Care System, Health & Wellbeing Partnerships, and local public transport providers to try and make our recommendations reality.
