Did you know that one in seven people in the UK are neurodivergent? That’s more than 15% of the population. So, if your workplace is all about one-size-fits-all HR, you’re missing out on a whole bunch of talent and potential. Every neurodivergent person is unique, and there’s no magic formula to make them fit into standard HR processes. But there are ways we can do better: 1️⃣ Recruitment, but make it personal. Tweak interviews and job descriptions to make sense for all kinds of minds. 2️⃣ Flexible workspaces. Whether it’s WFH, setting up a quiet zone, or letting people work at their own pace – make it easy for everyone to do their best work. 3️⃣ Be crystal clear. Vague emails might leave people guessing – being direct can give neurodivergent employees the structure they need. 4️⃣ Feedback that doesn’t fry brains. Prioritise empathetic, steady, and simple guidance on how to level up. 5️⃣ Onboarding that actually works. Not everyone learns the same way. Offer different formats and methods for people to find what works for them. 6️⃣ Wellness that includes everyone. From mental health initiatives to stress-relieving spaces, create a culture that celebrates taking care of yourself. 7️⃣ Celebrate neurodiversity.
