Here are some stunning photos from Kisima Farm Limited of their 9m DSX! Kisima is an extensive, highly productive mixed-use farm located in Timau, Meru County, Kenya. It is 100% Kenyan-owned and operated. While arable crops and floriculture are the primary focus, Kisima also manages a successful forestry program and supports numerous thriving community development projects. Kisima’s primary crops are wheat and barley. The farm operates two distinct cropping seasons per year, with harvesting and planting taking place simultaneously. Mono-cropping is not practiced; instead, Kisima employs a rotational system, cultivating wheat, barley, peas, canola, and potatoes. Altogether, the farm produces over 15,000 metric tonnes of arable crops annually. Recent initiatives have included the adoption of satellite guidance systems for precision agriculture and the implementation of no-till and controlled traffic systems (conservation agriculture) to optimize soil moisture conservation. Kisima are not just focusing on environmental sustainability, they also keep social sustainability at the heart of all of their activities.

We are delighted to announce that Charles Eaton, our Head of Sales and Marketing, has been promoted to Sales and Marketing Director. Since joining Horizon in 2021, Charlie has overseen a tremendous expansion in our commercial infrastructure and has expanded our sales activities into 30 countries worldwide which is now supported by a network of 22 exclusive dealers. His knowledge, energy and judgement has been critical to the development of our business and he thoroughly deserves this promotion. We look forward to Charlie continuing to steer our global sales and marketing strategy in the coming years, as we continue to supply industry leading agricultural machinery into an ever expanding list of countries worldwide.

This week our Head of Sales and Marketing Charles Eaton has been back in Germany supporting a Horizon DSX open day, organized by Susanne Reichert and Egid Hennig. Over 40 farmers attended from all over Germany, it was fantastic to see so much positivity towards no-till and Horizon. Fantastic couple of days back in the UK last week (despite the rain, wind and snow) with Horizon Agricultural Machinery Ltd, Charles Eaton, Mateusz Graczyk visiting farms and learning about regenerative agriculture. Our group of tenants from Poland and Romania came away with a huge amount of new found knowledge on how they can minimise costs, improve soil health and reduce thier impact on the environment. 🌾 Out near Leighton Buzzard this week with the team from Ernest Doe #Benington depot! 🚜 We were busy drilling wheat into a flailed-off cover crop, tackling some seriously sticky clay soils. Despite the challenges, the #Horizon 6m DSX low disturbance drill delivered an impressive performance – slotting the seed in beautifully and covering the sowing slot with minimal disturbance. 👏 Pushing on into the darkness, we wrapped up the field just in time.
