EquipX, a provider of artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled strategic equipment management solutions, has entered a collaborative agreement with US-based healthcare performance improvement company Vizient, Inc to optimise procurement and management of healthcare equipment. EquipX president and co-founder Jeff Aronson said: “We are thrilled to work with Vizient and bring our innovative medical equipment solutions to a wider audience. US health systems are spending billions to acquire, operate and maintain their expensive clinical equipment fleets. This relationship will enable Vizient provider customers to optimise this spending in a way that delivers the highest patient care at the lowest cost. Non-profit organisation The HealthWell Foundation has launched a new fund aimed at assisting with the costs associated with cancer home care services and durable medical equipment (DME). HealthWell Foundation Board member Don Liss said: “Cancer can cause families to struggle with much more than hospital and outpatient care. Providing grant funding for care in the home removes a barrier and allows families to keep their loved one safe and comfortable. Caregivers of people with cancer often bear the financial burden of purchasing equipment or paying for in-home services. These expenses can be overwhelming and another source of stress and anxiety. The partnership between healthcare provider Getinge and Siemens Healthineers has witnessed a milestone with the inauguration of two hybrid operating rooms (ORs) in the ASST dei Sette Laghi hospital in Varese, Italy. Getinge Italy Surgical Workflows senior project manager Luca Sartori said: “These Hybrid rooms will revolutionise the work of healthcare professionals and provide significant advantages regarding patient safety.
