Last week, our team visited the University of the Arts London for this year’s postgraduate show - an inspiring showcase of bold, creative problem-solving by the next generation of talent. From reframing mental health recovery as a workout to designing eco-friendly blind boxes and reinventing workshops with hands-on activities, the projects were packed with fresh, innovative ideas. For our strategists, it was inspiring to see how design can spark new approaches to branding and problem-solving. From Student to Strategist: A Full Circle Moment Any of the people in these photos could have been me! Last Thursday, I had the incredible privilege of returning to my alma mater, University of the Arts London, to visit this year’s postgraduate show. This time, however, I wasn’t there as a student hoping to catch the attention of agencies. I was there as an industry professional, joined by some of my amazing colleagues from Huxly Global, to engage with the brilliant ideas of the next generation. I vividly remember the significance of this event during my own postgraduate days—standing by my work, eager to share the idea I’d poured my heart into, hoping for meaningful conversations with industry visitors. Returning now, on the other side, was a humbling and inspiring experience. I loved speaking with students about how they’re reframing today’s challenges and using creativity to spark change. As strategists, we rarely encounter such a dense concentration of raw ideation—tangible, innovative, and so ready to engage. I hope to continue speaking with students, sharing lessons from my journey, and encouraging them to remain bold and inventive in an industry that sometimes leans toward repetition. Thank you to the students for an amazing show! Amazing day celebrating the 10th Anniversary of our own Annandale Distillery producing it's first, multi-award winning whisky! The success of the distillery is huge testament to the vision, creativity and skill of our owners David and Teresa, the hard work of the local team, and of course the foundational work MMR did to identify the right positioning and sensory profile for the Man O'Words and Man O'Sword products - a true money where our mouth is endeavour! The day came complete with requisite Scottishness (magnificent piper included), albeit the weather didn't play ball in that regard - with clear skies and an amazing sunrise over the nearby Solway Firth!
