We are thrilled to welcome KEW Technology as a new member of Hydrogen UK! KEW Technology is pioneering a sustainable circular economy with its unique approach to waste/biomass-to-hydrogen technology.   Their Project One, looking to upgrade KEW’s existing advanced gasification flagship commercial-scale demo facility (see photo below) to add on Carbon Capture and H2 (CCH2) production, is a testament to their commitment to a sustainable future. Our CEO Clare Jackson pitched to the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee as part of its inquiry scoping session on how the UK can maximise the economic opportunities of hydrogen and establish robust domestic supply chains. We were pleased to see Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves reaffirm the government's commitment to the 11 HAR1 hydrogen projects in this week's budget. Capital Hydrogen has announced the appointment of Jacobs as the lead contractor for the Pre-Front End Engineering Design (Pre-FEED) phase of Cadent’s East London Hydrogen Pipeline (ELHP) project. The ELHP will connect major industrial zones through East London along the River Thames to a hydrogen supply, enabling the decarbonisation of critical industries.
