UN Subcommittee on the Prevention of Torture (SPT) calls on Bolivia to strengthen 'rehab' centres' oversight. Globally, these facilities subject 100,000s to torture, not care. UN drug treaties *require* human rights compliance. #SupportDontPunish! https://lnkd.in/eKqCFFyg

We're overjoyed and so grateful!✨ This support will power the collaborative work of 9 different networks to consolidate organisational sustainability, bolster rights-based advocacy and campaigning, and achieve lasting impact for our communities. These resources are precious in a context of increased funding scarcity. The fight to #EndAIDS isn't over! As anti-rights and anti-gender forces intensify their threats to key populations and the HIV response as a whole, the Robert Carr Fund enables us to #TakeTheRightsPath! Our congratulations to all awardees and our fantastic consortium partners: - the Eurasian Harm Reduction Association - ENPUD ENPUD - EuroNPUD - European Network of People who Use Drugs - Harm Reduction International - MENAHRA - #MENANPUD - WHRIN - Youth RISE
Robert Carr Fund announces the award of $23 mln. USD to 25 grantees globally, providing multiyear, core and flexible funding for organizational strengthening, increasing access to #HIV and #SRHR services, advocacy and movement building. During the 2024 Request for Proposals process we received an overwhelming number of applications, more than ever before. A total of 93 eligible proposals were assessed through the RCF’s rigorous participatory review process. Due to a significant funding gap in RCF’s budget for the 2025-2027 funding cycle, the International Steering Committee (ISC) had to make tough choices as resources become increasingly limited, and the ability to meet the diverse and increasing needs of all communities is under strain. RCF is grateful for the steadfast support and partnership of the governments of the USA, the UK, Norway, from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and, as a new donor, Gilead Sciences. RCF remains committed to sustaining the capacities of community-led networks to uphold #HumanRights and remove barriers to health services, working to #EndAIDS among inadequately served populations. RCF International Steering Committee Communiqué and the list of successful grantees can be found here: https://bit.ly/3BBDsBG #CommunitiesFirst #RFP2024

The ‘War on Drugs’ destroyed lives and damaged communities. Criminalisation and prohibition have failed to reduce drug use and deter drug-related crimes. We need new approaches prioritising health, dignity and inclusion, guided by the Int.Guidelines on Human Rights & Drug Policy. https://lnkd.in/eJhbeumH

The ‘war on drugs’ has eroded and driven away people from crucial care — with terrible impacts on the HIV epidemic. Harm reduction measures & interventions, in a decriminalised framework, are essential to reduce and end new HIV transmissions. #SupportDontPunish #WorldAidsDay
