  • Pop quiz! 👏 = Poly Bag 💡 = Water Bottle answer 👇 Poly bags. Poly bags are not the most likely to be recycled due to many factors, but the simplest comes down to economics. This lightweight material is just that, light, there isn't much material there and to collect, separate, and process this into a usable material is too costly to make this material valuable. Not to mention the different combinations of additives and material combinations there can be to make it more complex. Water bottles in this case are the winners, they contain more valuable material that is easily returned to a raw state. So yay water bottles, I guess. But we'd say it's probably just better to reuse than to buy new water bottles every time. For poly bags, we're helping brands eliminate them where we can or where brands are willing to do the hard work of self-sorting to recycle in bulk. Eliminating plastics is simple, but not easy. Let's talk, info@idpdirect.com #plasticfree #packaging #retail #ecommerce #sustainability

    • WHICH OF THESE IS MOST
LIKELY TO BE RECYCLED?
is a test challenging viewers to determine which will get recycled and which goes to landfill.

In this case the two objects are a poly bag and a water bottle.

  • Your paper bags will cost up to 170% more than you were quoted. Here's why: Antidumping / Countervailing duties from Cambodia, the People’s Republic of China, Colombia, India, Malaysia, Portugal, Taiwan, the Republic of Turkey, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Each of these countries has its own fee structure, but China being the largest exporter of these goods has been hit with the highest duties, 170%. Many brands are still unaware of the impacts of the AD/CVD ruling, but are quickly realizing it with finance teams being hit with the delayed fines on products imported last year. Get the complete info on antidumping duties here: https://lnkd.in/gKQemhJG Want to learn how to avoid the duties and still save money? info@idpdirect.com Let's talk #packaging #antidumping #logistics #retail #paperbags

    • How design impacts Antidumping duties into the USA. Paper bags imported from various countries around the world require duties to be paid to gain entry into the USA.

Recently brands have ben hit with duties as much as 170% of costs of goods already received in 2024 because the duties are being collected retroactively.

Are you ready to pay nearly three times the price of a product just to get cheap prices on the front end? Not realizing 2/3s of the bill is due on top of those costs when it arrives into the USA?

Stop focusing on quoting packaging on a per item basis, focus on total cost of ownership.

What is the total cost of your packaging when it walks out of your store in the hands of the end consumer, is enjoyed, then sent on to recycling.
  • Are you ready for the EUTR & EUDR impact? Here's why retail brands relying on timber-based materials need to pay attention now. The European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) and the expanded Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) are raising the bar on sourcing. These regulations don’t just require ethical compliance—they enforce it, ensuring materials are legally sourced and free from ties to deforestation. Here’s what’s at stake: - Upholding your brand’s reputation. - Meeting EU legal requirements. - Building consumer trust through sustainability. At IDP Direct, we guarantee compliance. Our factories, FSC and FLEGT certifications, and commitment to sustainable sourcing ensure your packaging meets these standards. Don’t risk your reputation or your market access. Let us help you navigate these regulations with ease. Reach out today. info@IDPdirect.com #EUDR #packaging #retail #sustainability #certification

  • Are you calculating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) yet? Brands importing packaging from nearly a dozen countries into the US are... ...waking up to the reality of Antidumping Duties (ADD). With fees as high as 170%, brands are now paying more in duties than for the packaging itself. Think back to all those cost-cutting conversations with distributors—sharpening pencils, tweaking materials—all without accounting for ADD. Now, finance teams are feeling the squeeze, as these unexpected fees rarely hit packaging budgets directly, making it harder to connect the dots. Here’s the reality: ADD fines are here, and they’re costly. But they don’t have to be your reality. At IDP Direct, we specialize in antidumping duty-free packaging. By leveraging our own factories outside affected regions, we help brands avoid ADD fees and you get to eliminate distributor markups. Let us help you connect the dots and protect your TCO. Don’t let tariffs disrupt your packaging strategy—reach out today.  info@IDPDirect.com #packaging #antidumping #finance #retail #paperbags
