#ArtVoicePlace We are over the moon at Disrupt Space! The launch of the Shine Your Light exhibition and announcement of fine art prints by Disrupt Space was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, it celebrated creativity, imagination, and beautiful Black talent. The atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation as guests gathered around to feast their eyes on the beautifully curated collection of artworks. The six story displays showcase each Artist's (Lola Betiku, Elicia McKenzie, Damel Carayol, IBIM COOKEY, Sovina Vernon-White and Nathan Bowen) incredible skill and vision. The stunning prints illuminated in the re-purposed safe deposit boxes transforms the Pavilion. At the launch, the people brought the vibes as we relished the aura of 'disruption' in London's West End. It was a sight to behold! Here friends, family and colleagues came together to appreciate the power and beauty of art in our community. This launch has set the tone for what promises to be a great exhibition period that will continue to shine its light on the exhibiting Artists until 8th March 2024. You can check it out too. Shine The Light is at St James's Market Pavilion, SWIY 4SQ (nearest tube Piccadilly Circus), in the outdoor public space, so it is free to see. Thank You to all the Disrupt Space artists (Lola Betiku, Elicia McKenzie, Damel Carayol, IBIM COOKEY, Sovina Vernon-White and Nathan Bowen)for their incredible contributions, to Elicia McKenzie for her meticulous project management, to Tunji Akintokun MBE CCMI and Tangy C Morgan MSc, CII for jumping-in to to mark the official opening, to our world class Compere Adisa Stephen-Ezeocha for bringing the funk, to all who braved the weather, all the best wishes, those that stepped-up when they got 'the call', colleagues at National Museums Liverpool and Ideas Foundation and to The Crown Estate for being a great sponsor. Lookout for activities during the exhibition period. • Delighted late last year that the Ilesha Charitable Trust became a Bronze Patron of the Yinka Shonibare Foundation ,which will support Y.S.F. in enabling it to implement it's vision through hosting and supporting residencies in Lagos and Ijebu, education and developing professional programs in the UK and Nigeria, and therefore creating an accessible and resilient creative infrastructure for good global knowledge exchange in a bid to promote social justice. The vision of Y.S.F. aligns closely with the goals of the Ilesha Charitable Trust in respect to opportunity, enablement and social mobility in the work we do. We are very much looking forward to embarking on this exciting and transformative journey for the years ahead. Guest Artists Space (G.A.S.) Foundation
