Good Luck for forced deal completion day🍀 Whether or not CGT changes, the Budget rumour mill has again stimulated the flow of capital. Back in 2020 and 2021, post COVID when money needed to move, CGT “changes” rumoured and real had the same effect. Deal volumes in the sub £50m value bracket spiked. 📈 Deal values fell off a cliff. 📉 The highest % of value is lost in the critical late stages of a deal process. Experienced buyers surface “new” DD findings and market risk factors in the final throes of negotiation, leveraging tweaks to deal structure and value. Buyers rely on deal fatigue and the tax “deadline” to get what they want. If this is your first time selling a business, stand your ground 💪🏽 Reflect on how much you’ve sacrificed to create this value. Anything you leave on the table now is money in your new buyer’s pocket. Your buyer has invested time and money in the deal process, they need this deal to complete as much as you! Don’t be bullied into selling yourself short. You deserve a fair deal.

  • "You don't know what you don't know" 🤷 PE investment is unfamiliar territory to many, and if you're preparing for an exit, or further investment there's one shot to get it right. Having someone on your side who understands returns, structure and timescales is critical to getting investment right first time. What do you wish you'd known before going through a raise?
