So yesterday we hosted a Speed Networking session for Year 9 students at Richard Rose Morton Academy, providing a fun and informal setting to connect with some of our great local employers. Direct experiences related to future careers can leave a lasting impression. So when School 180 and The Gillford Centre asked us about the possibility of organising a visit to a construction site for students interested in this sector, to give them a taste of what it is like to work outside, we were more than happy to assist. 🏗️Story Contracting Limited kindly hosted two visits to their site on English Street in Carlisle, which is part of Cumberland Council's Carlisle Southern Gateway Project. It was a pleasure to help James Rennie School, Carlisle with their sixth form mock interviews. These interviews provided a supportive setting for students to practice and improve their interview skills, building confidence, reducing anxiety, and enhancing communication—key areas for students with special needs. Such preparation boosts their chances in actual job interviews and aids their transition to the world of work, promoting independence. It was great to meet the students who welcomed us with a tour of their school and refreshments.
