📢 New insights into young people's career-readiness from our largest-ever Future Skills Questionnaire (FSQ)! Nearly a quarter of a million young people from nearly 1,100 secondary education institutions completed FSQ in the 2023/24 academic year and our latest report highlights three key insights from this data: ⭐ Young people show high levels of interest in critical sectors such as #construction, #digital and #health ⭐ Girls and disadvantaged young people are less confident about their future ⭐ By age 16, young people feel confident in most work-related skills but rate themselves lower on speaking, listening, leadership and teamwork. ➡️ Read more about these insights in our report: https://bit.ly/3AOP1VL A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s Future Skills Questionnaire! #CareersEducation

❗ SUPPORT NEEDED ❗ Baines School are hosting Mock Interviews for their Year 11 cohort and would like to invite you to support this event. Interviews are being held on Tuesday 14th January 2025, from 9am until 1pm. The aim of the day is to provide every Year 11 student at Baines with the opportunity to have an individual interview with an employer, where they will present their CV for review and will also receive feedback. Mock interviews are a great way for students to practice their interview techniques and gain valuable experience and confidence within an interview setting. This experience will also help prepare students for their upcoming college interviews and for any future job interviews. On the day, students will have a 15 minute mock interview with an employer which includes reviewing the student's CV and then an extra 5 minutes will be allocated to the employer in order to provide written feedback. Interview packs will be provided to all employers on the morning of the event. Please see the programme outline below: 8.30am onwards Employer arrival to set up 9.00am Interviews commence 11.00am Break 11.20am Interviews recommence 13.00pm Finished for the day ☕ Complimentary refreshments will also be provided by Baines. Please let Katie (Baines Careers Adviser) know if a member of your team is available and if you would like to support the event by emailing to confirm your attendance - kki@baines.lancs.sch.uk #InspiringLancashire #UpskillingLancashire

Better conversations lead to better prospects and as Career Leaders, you’ll know this more than most! We’re here to help you equip your colleagues with the knowledge and tools that’ll ignite informed parental engagement in your setting and that's why last Friday (22nd Nov) we held a Parent and Carer Engagement Training day at County Hall in Preston. A huge THANK YOU to all involved but especially the wonderful Tina Milner for doing such a fantastic job of facilitating the day alongside Talking Futures. The day consisted of 2 modules which you can now access via the link below. Module 1 - Planning for Parent/Carer Engagement Aimed at Careers Leaders who are new to the role or looking to understand more about how you can engage parents and carers in careers education. Module 2 - Developing and Embedding a Whole-Institution Strategic Approach This explores how creating an institution-wide approach to careers through strategic planning can have a deeper impact on learners and their parents/carers. Lets keep helping every young person to find their next best step! https://lnkd.in/enCpFBva #InspiringLancashire #UpskillingLancashire
