Last week we hosted our final event of 2024, the Thomas Hawksley Prestige Lecture titled ‘Humans and Automation – Safety by Design’⚙️️ This year’s lecture, arranged by the IMechE’s 132nd President Carolyn Griffiths, featured an insightful talk by Professor Sarah Sharples FREng on designing safer and smarter autonomous systems, in particular considering the importance of Human Factors. The evening concluded with a dynamic panel discussion, sparking thought-provoking conversations on the future of automation and human-engineering integration.
