    This put a spring in my step last week at the Personalisation Summit - packed with valuable insights and thought leadership and thought I'd share the over arching theme and 6 key takeaways with examples: Key Theme: Customer expectations on the rise (when aren't they..), your customers judge you on the past experience they had with say Uber or Deliveroo, not vs your competitors and in fact in such a fast moving landscape you might not even know who your competitor is, yet.. 1️⃣ Personalisation, is well, Personal: Comfort levels to the level of Personalisation vary, so it to let people opt in. Aislinn Mallon from The Guardian shared how readers can control their landing page personalisation level and Eli Abramovitch demonstrated how the Deliveroo platform adapts dynamically to user profiles, boosting engagement and revenue per customer. 2️⃣ Good Structure = Good Business Value Ben Francis highlighted how the LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION LIMITED structured a robust personalisation engine with clear KPI's to drive growth and secure funding over a multiyear program. Fun Fact - in addition to the All England Club, the LTA also holds a ballot for Wimbledon tickets 3️⃣ Ethical and Sustainable AI Builds Trust: Alejandra Alonso Díaz, Global Head Sustainable and Responsible AI at Telefónica shared six principles for ethical AI, emphasising the importance AI governance from inception, design, deployment and operationalisation for sustained value. Her message was clear: your value proposition is only as strong as your weakest link. 4️⃣ Reliable Data essential for Personalisation: Jivesh Juneja explained how Nissan Motor Corporation uses real time data to connect customer journeys to foster deeper relationships, while Neil Thornton shared how important it is for Harrods to orchestrate their customer data to provide a premium service across a wide portfolio of offerings. 5️⃣ Be Curious, Fail Fast: Zack Wragg at Merlin Entertainments encourages celebrating failures to drive innovation and challenge orthodoxies, and Michiel Dorjee from Optimizely emphasised the power of A/B testing on small customer segments allowing for rapid, scalable progress. 6️⃣ Mindful Design for Personalisation at Scale: Will Pearl from B&Q shared how they design customer journeys with the end in mind, mapping principles to customer experience and life time value. Paul Wright 🌻 highlighted Uber's impressive growth in advertising revenues is equally about what they choose not to do, delivering value to customers, drivers and advertisers through mindful design. I'd like to thank the other presenters who made these two days impactful with their expertise and to my fellow attendees for your collaboration. Kudos to all at IQPC for curating such an engaging event - it allowed everyone to connect, learn and gain practical insights.
