#Norway proposes new regulations to boost offshore aquaculture The Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Fisheries has released a proposal for new regulations aimed at expanding offshore aquaculture, focusing on the design and equipment of offshore fish farming facilities. The proposed regulations also clarify that the Working Environment Act will apply to offshore aquaculture activities, addressing safety and environmental concerns as the industry moves into more exposed locations at sea. https://lnkd.in/g7Q6piAP

Finnforel to build RAS fish farming facility in #UAE #AbuDhabi-based investment company ADQ has signed an agreement with Finnish aquaculture firm Finnforel to explore the development of a land-based fish farming facility in the UAE. The project, which aims to produce up to 3,000 tonnes of rainbow trout annually, will use recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) that filter and reuse water in a closed environment. Maritech expands into European and Asian markets Maritech, a Norway-based provider of cloud-based software for the seafood industry, has announced its expansion into new markets in Europe and Asia. University of Stirling announces first recipient of Nikos Steiropoulos Aquaculture Bursary The University of Stirling has named Laila Al Farsi as the first recipient of the Nikos Steiropoulos Aquaculture Bursary, sponsored by MSD Animal Health UK.
