The UK Bus Awards recognise excellence and innovation in the industry, including culture change. The 2024 UK Bus Awards held yesterday at the Troxy, London included the Culture Change Award. Intuitive were proud sponsors of this category for the 2 year running. Caroline Wilson, Head of Client Engagement at Intuitive was at the ceremony to announce the winner. The gold winner was Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus for their programme "training through dramatised training storytelling". Today marks #EqualPayDay, the day when, based on average pay, women effectively stop being paid compared to men and work for FREE for the rest of the year. ⚖️ Equal Pay Day is two days earlier this year … we’re going in the wrong direction! 📈 According to the Fawcett Society, the #genderpaygap has widened, with the mean full-time pay gap standing at 11.3%, up from 10.7% in 2023. 💰The widening gap means that, on average, every month working women take home £631 less than men. 📉 That’s on average £7,572 less a year. ⏩ A small step in the right direction - employers can stop asking candidates for their current salary during the recruitment process; decide on the salary band for the job you are recruiting in to, decide what you think that candidate is ‘worth’, and make your offer based on that please.
