Annals of Work Exposures and Health is seeking abstracts for papers that examine the occupational exposures and workplace health and safety challenges arising from or exacerbated by climate change in the Global South. Selected authors will receive an invitation to submit a full manuscript for consideration in a special issue on the theme. Global Exposure Manager (GEM) July-September 2024 The International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) is pleased to publish yet another informative GEM, as attached. This is the last edited magazine from Maharshi Mehta, CIH, CSP, FAIHA. IOHA started publishing GEM electronically about one year ago. Readers have responded in overwhelming numbers for the GEM. Maharshi Mehta, CIH, CSP, FAIHA, would like to thank all those who contributed to the magazine. Samantha Connell, MSPH, CIH has graciously agreed to edit future GEMs. This GEM features an article by Margaret Kirby on the Indoor Air Quality Code of Practices from the Health and Safety Authority of Ireland. The IOHA National Accreditation Recognition (NAR) Committee has filled a new role titled Chief NAR Reviewer. IOHA is pleased to announce Dr Sharann Johnson AM, FAIOH, COH as the inaugural incumbent of the new role. Sharann said “I am proud and delighted to be the inaugural Chief Reviewer for the IOHA NAR committee. This will enable me to support and guide NARC members and national associations through the certification credentialling process. Growing the capacity and competency in occupational hygiene globally is an issue I am passionate about.” Chief NAR Reviewer is a brand-new role that was initiated to manage assessments of national schemes within the NAR, assist new applicants with understanding program requirements and onboarding new NAR members with training to support assessment reviews. IOHA believes this role will streamline the application and review processes and draw in new NAR members, growing the pool of Occupational Hygiene (OH) Competency globally. On October 20th, the IOHA Board held the 2nd board meeting of 2024 and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The meeting was graciously hosted by the Malaysian Industrial Hygiene Association (MIHA) and the Asian Network of Occupational Hygiene (ANOH). A special thank you Marina Zainal Farid, CPIH, CIH and Philip Hibbs for their leadership and support in organizing the events. IOHA thanks the board members and committee chairs for their participation and fruitful discussions, which will help IOHA continue to advance as an organization.
