  • "It’s been brilliant working only for clients that do good in the world. The generosity from the J&G team: their patience, encouragement, and willingness to get me involved on the stuff that matters, so I could have a real impact, is so refreshing." We recently welcomed Isaac Jackson aboard for a (paid, obvs) internship. He was amazing, helping out ably across multiple accounts. And along the way, we were delighted to help Isaac find a sense of purpose and confidence in his abilities. Read more from Isaac here: https://lnkd.in/eWtdbreA

  • As we mark the end of British tomato season, we’re taking a moment to look back at British Tomato Fortnight 2024. We love working with the amazing team at the British Tomato Growers' Association, and this year was no exception. We celebrated peak tomato season with a vibrant campaign encouraging more people to buy British. Did you know that buying British toms not only supports the local economy, but also helps reduce food air miles compared to imported varieties? Plus, they’re kept on the vine for longer, meaning they absorb as much flavour as possible before reaching your plate. Nathalie Key, Simon Conway, Philip Morley.

Communications, social impact, sustainable business | Chair of Governors | Mentor via Social Mobility Foundation

All young people, whatever their background, need good careers guidance. It’s especially helpful for those young people who aren’t exposed to different careers within their family or social networks. There is strong evidence to show that good careers guidance drives social mobility and social justice. So it’s been a pleasure to work with the team Gatsby Charitable Foundation to help them launch the updated Gatsby Benchmarks. This guidance has been hugely effective for the past decade and now they have been updated to reflect the changing world we live in and to make even more impact. It was brilliant to be at the launch event on Monday and meet some of the practitioners and partners. The Gatsby benchmarks make a real difference to those who need it the most: students in institutions achieving all eight benchmarks are 8% less likely to be NEET (not in education, employment or training) compared to peers in schools with low or no Gatsby benchmark activity. This is even strong for the most disadvantaged young people, with as much as a 20% reduction in NEET rates. Nyree Ambarchian Katie Holl Thomas Shirt Beth J. • If young people don't get decent careers guidance at school, it really limits them. Careers guidance has come a looonnnggg way over the last ten years, with the Gatsby Charitable Foundation's Gatsby Benchmarks at the heart of that progress - along with a lot of hard work from teachers and careers leaders. A lot has changed since the benchmarks were first launched. And so, after two years of research and stakeholder engagement, the benchmarks have been updated. It's been a real privilege to work with the stellar team from Gatsby to help communicate the changes. Rakhee Rajani and Nyree Ambarchian joined the launch in Westminster yesterday, along with Warren Nettleford who was on hand to capture the event as it unfolded. https://lnkd.in/eAbNvsmH

    • Careers guidance is the absolute lynchpin to social mobility. If young people come from backgrounds where they don't have the networks to see what's out there, it really limits them." Quote from Yvonne Hammonds, North East Combined Authority
  • When technical sectors like engineering and manufacturing rely on recruiting skilled talent, it’s no surprise that long-standing skills gaps and people shortages are holding many businesses back. So, since it’s National Engineering Day AND Tomorrow’s Engineers Week, we’re putting a spotlight on the work we’re doing with Gatsby Charitable Foundation to raise awareness of T Levels in the #Engineering and #Manufacturing sector as a route to recruitment - helping businesses secure a pipeline of skilled talent and increase productivity. Shaped by the industry, T Levels are a new, high-quality qualification for 16–19-year-olds, designed to give young people the skills they need to step directly into technical roles. Each T Level combines classroom learning with a 45-day industry placement hosted by an employer. As well as giving students on-the-job experience, these placements can help businesses find future employees. So, if you work in the sector, consider hosting an Engineering and Manufacturing T Level student for a placement to find tomorrow’s talent, today. Start by searching for your local school or college offering T Levels: https://lnkd.in/dEauuhUx #TEWeek24 #NationalEngineeringDay #TLevels

Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey. How much more of this? 🤦♀️ The Clean Creatives community is a powerhouse of passionate, talented folk leading a critical movement for change: to get agencies to cut ties with fossil fuel clients. There are now more than 1,000 creative agencies who’ve pledged to NEVER work with fossil fuel brands - Jack & Grace | B Corp Certified being one, obvs. And while every single one of those pledges is making a difference, let’s not forget those who haven’t committed 👀 (the latest F List is here btw: https://lnkd.in/ezrfaafE) Yes, Clean Creatives is an activism campaign at heart, but what I really love is how supportive and welcoming the network is (shout out to Laura Ranzato). They coach activists, connect like-minded colleagues, and support teams to change their agencies from the inside. So, if you work in PR, comms, design, advertising or web development – any corner of the creative space – Clean Creatives will support you to push the leadership of your agency to set policy and decline contracts with fossil fuel clients. Or if you've already made that commitment, please show your support by pledging publicly. There IS power in numbers, we just need to reach the tipping point.

⚠️ Teneo is the lead agency for COP29 Azerbaijan - the world’s climate change conference kicking off this week. Teneo is also working for 5 fossil fuel companies which are in direct conflict with what global leaders and their communities are trying to achieve at COP29. According to DeSmog, Azerbaijan, signed a $5 million contract with New York PR agency, Teneo who also work clients such as BHP, ADNOC Group (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) - Masdar, Centrica, ENGIE and EnQuest. But there’s more! Teneo’s President of Global Strategy & Communications, Geoff Morrell, is a former bp communications chief. How can COP29 be a “a moment of truth for the Paris Agreement” when its PR firm is simultaneously working for the world's biggest polluters? 🔗Learn more from Desmog about Teneo & COP29 here: https://lnkd.in/eeAWAQ4j #Teneo #COP29 #Azerbaijan #PublicRelations #PR #Marketing #Sustainability #ClimateChange #Desmog

  • We get to create powerful campaigns for incredible organisations working to tackle inequality and shape a happier, healthier planet. Last year, 91% of our work was for clients already making an evidenced positive impact, leaving some room to work with clients who have good intentions but can’t yet back that up with evidence of impact. Our big goal? To be on the side of businesses and organisations doing good. Read more about our clients and work in our Impact Report (yep, still plugging it for all it's worth): https://lnkd.in/eUdBz7et

  • When a business goes from proof of concept to established leader with global impact in just a few short years, its brand and website needs to keep pace. So, when US-based conservation finance organisation Blue Forest faced this challenge, they called on J&G to uncover their point of difference and tell it through a new core narrative, tone of voice and optimised web copy. Our recommendations are always based on insight and, with client workshops, competitor analysis, desk research and interviews with key partners, this process was rigorous. Blue Forest’s purpose - to help restore the world’s eco-systems - has never been more important, so we needed to bring that urgency through and create a mission-driven narrative that matched the impact of their work. Following our strategic recommendations and key messaging, our fabulous friends at Jory&Co. developed a new visual identity and website for Blue Forest, bringing the brand to life. The result: a strong brand and beautiful website that communicates Blue Forest’s impact and connects more meaningfully with key audiences 🌟 Read the full case study at www.jackandgrace.co.uk
