  • 🌊 JFD at the IMCA Global Summit 2024 🌊 Our team was proud to attend this year’s IMCA Global Summit, reinforcing JFD’s legacy of over in supporting the diving industry. For over 40 years we’ve been a trusted partner through decades of growth and innovation, standing by the industry as it evolves. The diving industry continues to play a critical role across offshore energy production, including renewables such as offshore wind and the push for sustainability is driving changes in manufacturing and operations and we are keen to ensure our offering reflects these demands. It was inspiring to hear safety and innovation emphasised through talks by Chris Lemons, Todd Conklin, and Kevin Barron. Attracting and developing new talent is also critical for the future of the industry, and Nicki Vass, JFD Sales, Product and Service Manager, as part of the Energy Institute Young Professionals Network Aberdeen, Highlands & Islands Branch, is passionate about fostering the next generation of diving professionals. #DivingIndustry #EnergyTransition #Safety #Sustainability #IMCAGlobalSummit

Today's roundtable with Jonathan Reynolds MP, Secretary of State at Department for Business and Trade marks a significant step forward in our dialogue with political, financial and industry stakeholders on the unique investment needs of our sector. Identified as a growth driver in the Industrial Strategy Green Paper, we're clear on the needs of the environment we operate in.    In today's The Times newspaper, CEO Kevin Craven states: “The business environment is challenging. [...] There is a wider perception among some institutions that defence is somehow wrong and a nervousness around compatibility with ESG policies. But investing in defence is not incompatible with ESG. You cannot have a sustainable and ethical society without defence.”   We're proud to work closely with our counterparts in UK Finance, with their Managing Director of Commercial Finance David Raw CBE stating: "In recent years, there has been a significant expansion of the regulatory framework that banks operate within, which, given the complexity of defence supply chains, can create some challenges. The UK banking sector is however fully committed to supporting defence companies and works closely with representatives from the defence sector and government to help address any challenges that arise."   Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gHFtQVHX Our Access to Finance Guide is available to read here: https://lnkd.in/grG_GpEF #Defence #Security #ESG #Industry

We have been asked ‘what do Tactical Diving Vehicles (TDVs) offer beyond Swimmer Delivery Vehicles (SDVs)?’ For many reasons TDVs are redefining the landscape of discrete and covert littoral operations. TDVs like the JFD Shadow Seal and Carrier Seal offer multi-mode operation – surface, semi-submerged and fully submerged. This flexibility greatly reduces the vehicle’s signature, enabling covert infiltration and exfiltration in high threat environments either alongside submarine or surface ship capability or completely independently. Our TDVs are operable from a wide range of insertion and extraction platforms, including launch from a submerged platform, naval vessels, civilian craft, and even aircraft, however their ability to also operate completely independently of a host platform due to their long-range, over-the-horizon capability provides SOF units with an independent operational advantage, reducing the need to expose high-value assets to unnecessary risks. For navies without submarine support, TDVs present a cost-effective alternative, bridging critical capability gaps and extending the reach of maritime SOF operations. Their versatility and lower cost compared to larger platforms make TDVs an ideal choice for rapid response, coastal defence, and protection of critical national infrastructure. • In September 2024, JFD proudly participated in Dynamic Monarch 24, one of the world’s most challenging international submarine rescue exercises. Supporting the NSRS system, we showcased its specialist expertise as one of the most capable submarine rescue systems globally. Following mobilisation from its home in Scotland to Norway, the NSRS system successfully conducted multiple operations and rescue scenarios, including mates with Swedish and Norwegian submarines and dry transfer of personnel. Dynamic Monarch 24 was not just a platform to demonstrate our capabilities but also an essential exercise for skill enhancement, interoperability, and strengthening collective expertise across the industry. As the submarine industry continues to evolve, having a robust and proven rescue capability is vital to ensure the best possible procedures and assistance are ready if ever needed. JFD is incredibly proud to build on over 40 years of submarine rescue experience and to have demonstrated our expertise during this vital exercise. Our Defence Division (JFD) had the pleasure of participating in the Dynamic Monarch exercise in Norway, mobilising the NATO Submarine Rescue System (NSRS). Submarine rescue has been at the heart of our Defence Division for over 40 years. As such, this was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate James Fisher’s capability in this area, while sharing best practice with participating nations. JFD has managed the In-Service Support contract for participating NSRS nations since 2015, maintaining it in a rescue ready state to ensure rapid mobilisation should the need for a submarine rescue arise. JFD continues to enhance submarine rescue services as part of our commitment to pioneer safe and trusted solutions for complex problems in harsh environments.
