Youth mentoring. Stand out and reach your potential.

About us

Joined Up Thinking JUT is a Community Interest Company (not for profit organisation) that empowers young people through mentoring, to be the best they can regardless of race, culture or gender. We believe that by working together - being our brother's or sister's keeper, we can enable and encourage others to stand out and reach their full potential. Joined Up Thinking is an organisation based on Christian principles and values helping young people regardless of faith or religion. At JUT, we welcome and help young people from all backgrounds and cultures, especially young people from BME (Black Minority and Ethnic) background, as statistics have shown this group to be the most vulnerable and prone to discrimination. We also encourage people from all backgrounds to work together to create a more cohesive and equal future.

A year ago, I was a fresh grad full of excitement to kick off my career and chase my creative dreams—but honestly, I had no clue where to start. Luckily, I found Joined Up Thinking JUT, an amazing organisation that mentors young people, especially POC individuals, and they matched me with the amazing team at Welcome to SHOOK. What was supposed to be a six-week work experience, has now turned into me almost hitting my first year of many creative ideas and exciting campaigns at SHOOK! For ESEA Heritage Month, and with a little push from my boss Gemma Moroney, (who ALWAYS encourages us to speak up about things that matter) I wrote my very first article for PRWeek UK. It’s about how companies can find talent in ways that aren’t so traditional. There are so many creative people out there, especially from underepresented backgrounds, who are either waiting to be discovered or held back by the obstacles they face to enter. Feeling like the minority can be daunting. That’s where organisations like Joined Up Thinking JUT come in, offering the support and mentorship that really make a difference and are dedicated to empowering the future. Special shoutout to Mottie Omideyi and Josh Akapo - thank you for everything that you do. https://lnkd.in/gFyXkrZ2
