How many times have you been to the gym this month? For lots of us, January means heading back to our local leisure and sports centres, but from an energy point of view (and we don’t mean the Lucozade Sport kind 🙂), these facilities require a lot of power to operate, especially if there's a swimming pool too. In recent years, we’ve been working with a number of private and public sports and leisure facilities to help them cut operational running costs, improve energy efficiency, and power their activities through solar. Here’s a glimpse of some of those projects, including Godalming Leisure Centre, Xcel Leisure Centre, Bridport Leisure Centre and St George’s College Sports Hall - all funded in different ways. Over 20,000 new charge points went live in 2024 - that’s a 38% increase year on year, so for EV drivers or anyone thinking of making the switch, the supporting public charging infrastructure is certainly growing at speed.
