    Pandan (also referred to the Vanilla of the East) is a tropical plant native to Southeast Asia where it has been used for cooking for centuries. The plant has long, thin, dark green leaves that are noticeably fragrant, with creamy and sweet notes.🌿 Pandan has a similar taste to vanilla, with notes of coconut and green tea.     Meet Lauren, our latest apprentice who joined the team in September in our Applications Lab. This week is National Apprenticeship Week so we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate the power of hands-on learning in the flavour industry. We know just how valuable that can be. Doing an apprenticeship is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in an industry with real world experience alongside the theory. Learning on the job, working alongside industry experts, and developing commercial awareness. This is exactly why we believe apprenticeships are such a fantastic way to start a career. And we’re not just saying that – our Managing Director, Jake Lavelle, started his own journey as an apprentice, learning the industry from the ground up, which ultimately led to the creation of JPL Flavours! That experience shaped the way we do business today – prioritising creativity, collaboration and transparency. We believe in investing in the next generation of talent, giving that the tools and opportunities to develop and challenge the norm, helping us change the way the flavour industry operates.
