Last week we were in Geneva - presenting our latest submission to the UN on the state of everyday rights in the UK. Our message was simple, the system is broken and it’s time to incorporate our everyday rights into UK law. It was great to be joined by so many inspiring people from across civil society, who together painted a concerning picture of everyday rights in the UK, highlighting deep inequalities and the ongoing violations faced by marginalised communities. Without adopting a rights-based approach, the situation will only deteriorate. Nearly 50 years after ratifying the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, it’s time for the UK to incorporate these rights into its domestic law. 👉 For more details, read our blog: https://lnkd.in/ehDSvkYJ

Today, we're in Geneva presenting our latest submission to the UN on the state of everyday rights in the UK. Our message is simple, the system is broken, with the situation only getting worse. Supported by over 30 civil society organisations, our submission reveals the deep inequalities and ongoing violations faced by marginalised communities across the UK. This isn’t just about the past – the current government continues to make political decisions that harm rights, from ignoring critical recommendations from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry to maintaining the harmful two-child limit. Without a rights-based approach, the situation will only worsen.
