  • Last week, our team got the chance to attend Gateley's latest leadership event, where two incredible leaders from business and sport shared their insights: John Steele OBE, former England rugby player and Chair of Commonwealth Games England, and Steve Hewitt, former CEO of Gymshark. 👥 Here are some standout takeaways that really stuck with us: ✨ Humility in leadership Great leaders don’t forget where they started, embracing the challenges and lessons that shaped them. 🌿 Wisdom from a Māori proverb John Steele shared a New Zealand saying: Kia whakatōmuri te haere whakamua, which means, "I walk backwards into the future with my eyes fixed on my past." A reminder of how much we learn from looking back, even as we move forward. 💡 Values-based leadership It’s not just about having values; it’s about living them. Purpose and authenticity are key to navigating leadership and driving success. As the saying goes: “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.” It was a brilliant event that gave us plenty of food for thought!  #Leadership #Business #Sport
