Back in 2023, our CEO, Manuel Fradinho Oliveira, sat down with Aerospace Xelerated to share KIT-AR's journey. Why we started, the challenges we set out to solve, and our vision for the future of manufacturing. The core issue? Human errors in manufacturing weren't just mistakes, they were symptoms of a bigger problem. Operators didn't have the right tools to prevent errors before they happened. But instead of using technology to replace workers, we saw an opportunity to empower them. By providing real-time AR guidance and insights, we help teams improve efficiency, reduce mistakes, and boost quality. Looking back, this vision still fuels us today. Increasing complexity, rising quality demands and the push for a smarter and more connected production only makes it more urgent to connect human expertise with digital tools. Eliminating the CoPQ by augmenting operators and process in manufacturing and assembly in human centric Quality Control.
About us
Our augmented quality assurance platform helps manufacturers reduce production errors to a bare minimum. Through our augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) tools, we identify and anticipate errors, enabling workers to make work right first time, every time, all the time. With our platform, shopfloor workers are digitally guided throughout their daily tasks with step-by-step AR instructions, enjoying automated quality checks and visually enabling continuous improvement. We reduce errors to a bare minimum, while increasing manufacturing productivity. We are currently developing vertical products for specific shopfloor processes - Our first product is dedicated to easily prevent mistakes when packing up parts or creating kits: with on-demand instructions appearing where and when needed, kitting procedures become fully digital and standardized, errors can be traced and productivity insights are generated for the engineering teams.

Gartner's 2025 report paints a picture of an automotive industry undergoing significant change, with electrification and software leading this transformation. EV's are expected to grow by 17% in 2025, and by 2030, more than half of vehicles could be electric. However, as exciting as these advancements are, the road ahead doesn't seem simple. With regulatory uncertainty and geopolitical tensions, automakers will need to be agile to navigate these challenges. China's role in this shift is significant, as they continue to lead in electrification and software with Western manufacturers increasingly relying on Chinese technology. While this reliance emphasizes that the world of automotive innovation is interconnected, it also comes with some risks. As geopolitical tensions rise, how will these dynamics shape the future of automotive technology? How do we build a manufacturing sector that's ready for tomorrow? By investing in people, not just in technology. In their 15th anniversary publication, EFFRA reflects on over a decade of promoting innovation, collaboration and resilience in European manufacturing. Since 2009, they have highlighted an essential insight: the true power behind technological advancements lies with the workers who bring these innovations to life. At KIT-AR, we see this insight reflected in our work every day. By delivering real-time guidance and actionable insights to manufacturing teams, we empower workers to boost productivity, enhance quality and build confidence in their daily operations on the #shopfloor. For Europe to continue driving progress in manufacturing innovation, investing in the development of a high skilled workforce is key. Embracing new technologies and adapting workers to an evolving industry will unlock their full potential and prepare us all for future challenges. Earlier this month, Cox Automotive Inc. [https://buff.ly/3WiNyhZ] reported that 2024 ended on a high note, achieving a Q4 milestone for EVs sales in the U.S. of 1.3 million vehicles, reflecting increased costumer's trust. Tesla, despite continuing to own the majority of the EV U.S. market, sold less 37,854 cars when compared with the previous financial year. Whilst the U.S. brands showed the greatest resurgence of U.S. market share, along with Asian manufacturers, the European brands lagged behind with Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen Group underperforming. When looking at the European market, a BMI report [https://buff.ly/4g8DO0A] showed a more cautious outlook even though there are promising signals indicating consumer trust in the year ahead. With the U.S. making progress and Europe showing some promising signs, could 2025 be a year where EV adoption finds balance? What do you think? #EVMarket #ElectricalVehicles #FutureOfTransportation
