This week we are celebrating Pavel Savelev’s third and Ema Benzar’s second anniversaries at LA London. In their time with us, both have proven to be valuable and highly respected team members. As well as making significant contributions to a number of our exceptional projects, both have separately helped build and reinforce our robust internal processes, Pavel building a bespoke project management system from the ground up, while Ema has built and implemented many of our new trackers and schedules for managing the post-BSA building regulations process. 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻

We’re a bit late to the party 🥂 as it’s been a very busy start to the year for us but we’d like to wish all of our followers a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2025. We are excited to see some beautiful projects completing this year and have already been appointed to our first substantial residential project of the year. Kathryn Archer Kathryn, a Partner at LA London, has been with the team for over thirty years, running high-end projects across all sectors: residential, retail, hotel, hospitality and workplace. She has an excellent record for retaining clients and has worked for Harrods and Selfridges for a combined period of over twenty-five years, including working on the restoration of both of their facades. She also maintained The Savoy Hotel as a client for almost ten years. Today, Kathryn splits her time between premium commercial and residential projects. The Building Safety Act: What We’ve Learned One year on from the Building Safety Act coming into force, we reflect on its impact on the prime London construction industry overall and more specifically on our own processes, projects and clients. The 2022 Building Safety Act was introduced in with the primary purpose of making buildings safer – in particular, those deemed to be ‘higher risk’. While we unquestionably support this aim, we have encountered a variety of challenges resulting from the wide-reaching changes to regulatory requirements. These challenges are affecting our clients, our contractors, and the construction industry at large. As we have adapted to the regulatory changes, we have implemented new ways of tracking and documenting our projects to fulfil our compliance obligations and communicate requirements effectively with project teams. In our latest Journal post, we look at some of the questions we have been asked about the BSA, especially with regard to Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs), and some of the lessons we have learned. https://lnkd.in/dXtHkzEq
