About us
LA London (formerly Lees Associates) is an architecture and interior design practice specialising in prime residential, retail, commercial and hotel projects. From our base in London Bridge we work for private clients and developers throughout London, the UK and internationally. With over forty years’ experience, we have established ourselves as one of the UK’s foremost luxury design and delivery practices with a proud reputation for achieving the highest quality within an agreed budget and programme. Our developer clients value our experience in the private sector and our ability to use this to deliver the equivalent quality on a development budget. Likewise, our experience from developments allows us to help our private clients to achieve optimum value for money. LA London's approach to each project is centred around a steadfast commitment to servicing the fundamental needs of the client and their project. Every project is director-led with an appropriate design team being drawn from the practice’s own staff of talented architects, interior designers and technicians. Our clients recognise how the care and attention to detail that we invest in every project ensures a smooth process from concept to completion. We place an emphasis on risk management throughout our projects and keep clients apprised with full transparency. Our reputation for leading design teams on high-profile, high-value projects with professionalism and care has led us to be regularly invited to act as executive architect for some of the world’s foremost designers. We have a wealth of experience working with existing buildings, working with conservation officers on heritage aspects while maximising the potential for fulfilling contemporary uses and lifestyles. In this way we add real measurable value to the properties we work on.

The Building Safety Act: What We’ve Learned One year on from the Building Safety Act coming into force, we reflect on its impact on the prime London construction industry overall and more specifically on our own processes, projects and clients. The 2022 Building Safety Act was introduced in with the primary purpose of making buildings safer – in particular, those deemed to be ‘higher risk’. While we unquestionably support this aim, we have encountered a variety of challenges resulting from the wide-reaching changes to regulatory requirements. These challenges are affecting our clients, our contractors, and the construction industry at large. As we have adapted to the regulatory changes, we have implemented new ways of tracking and documenting our projects to fulfil our compliance obligations and communicate requirements effectively with project teams. In our latest Journal post, we look at some of the questions we have been asked about the BSA, especially with regard to Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs), and some of the lessons we have learned. https://lnkd.in/dXtHkzEq

Clear communication is the bedrock of a successful project. If an issue arises, 9 times out of 10 it can be traced back to a breakdown in communication somewhere along the line. At LA London we place communication at the top of our priorities throughout our projects and have built robust processes to ensure nothing can get missed; it is one of our core values. https://lnkd.in/gtukyCvn
