Yesterday, at Lansons | Team Farner, we had the profound honour of hosting Holocaust survivor Mala Tribich, for our fourth annual Holocaust Memorial Day event in conjunction with the Holocaust Educational Trust. Hearing her story—of unimaginable loss, resilience, and survival—was humbling beyond words. 80 years on from the Holocaust, with antisemitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of hatred rising across the world, her testimony serves as a stark reminder of what happens when intolerance goes unchecked. I am proud to work for a company that ring-fences time to reflect on these lessons. As Mala shared her experiences—of survival, courage, and hope—her sheer humanity shone through. It is on all of us to listen, learn, and ensure that ‘Never Again’ is not just a phrase, but a reality. Let’s not just remember—let’s act. P.s. This week, I’d encourage you to check in with your Jewish colleagues and friends—days like this can be difficult, and a simple message of support can go a long way.
Big tradition here – choosing our charity of the year, as voted for by colleagues. Thrilled to announce Bowel Cancer UK as our charity for 2025. Kicked off in a big way, with a (valentines inspired) bake sale. Huge thanks to all our colleagues who baked, mixed, kneaded and… ££ bought in treats. Bowel Cancer UK are the country’s leading charity dedicated to creating a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer. Their determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by it. At Lansons Team Farner, since day one we have donated 1% profits to charity, in addition to fundraising throughout the year with a dedicated charity committee and team effort from all colleagues. If you’re an alumnus, you’ll be all too familiar with these, from our Winter fairs, bake sales, marathons and the (now televised) monthly lottery. We’re also wrapping up our fundraising totals for last year’s charity, MHRUK, and will share an update soon. In the meantime, a huge thank you to our colleagues, past and present, for keeping this tradition alive.👏❤️

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. We remember the 6 million Jewish men, women, and children, alongside millions of others, who were murdered during the Holocaust. As we reflect on this dark chapter in history, we are reminded of our shared responsibility to speak out against antisemitism, bigotry, and hatred in all forms. We directed and filmed the legend that is Michael Sheen discussing the impact of The Passion in Port Talbot - a 2011 play that stretched over 72 hours - and took an entire town with it. For Michael, it was an experience that "changed everything." It's one of the most beautiful and moving examples of how the arts can bring real change to a community - and another testament to the power of National Lottery funding. It was a total dream working with Michael - on this film and recording with him at Good Morning Britain and Sky News live this morning. As we celebrate three decades of good cause funding, not-for-profit actor, Michael Sheen recounts his experience making National Lottery and Arts Council Wales funded Passion of Port Talbot in his hometown in Wales, which brought the entire town together. For Michael, the Passion was "the most significant experience of [his] life". He talks in this film about the profound impact it had both on the local community and on his own professional and personal life. The film also features commentary from Welsh actor, Callum Scott-Howells who credits Michael with inspiring his own career as well as fundamentally changing the landscape for Welsh theatre and film through The Passion of Port Talbot. As part of the celebrations, we sent the wonderful Thomas Duke (@steppingthroughfilm) to every corner of the UK to recreate 30 iconic moments from the last 30 years in his own iconic style.
