Congratulations to University of Lincoln's LCASTOR [https://lnkd.in/gkvPrcS7] team, composed of students and researchers - in the International RoboCup competition [2024.robocup.org] (the "Olympics of Robotics"), which was held in Eindhoven, Netherlands two weeks ago. the LCASTOR scored 9th against other universities from all over the world, and we were the best-scoring team from the UK while scoring higher than other renowned universities such as Tsinghua, EPFL, and Bielefeld! https://lnkd.in/gSEqtzAX https://lnkd.in/gxxY6YtM
🤩 What an incredible experience! 🤖 At our second participation in a row, the LCASTOR RoboCup Team (University of Lincoln) qualified to the second stage of the RoboCup 2024 - Eindhoven @Home competition. Unfortunately, not having expected such a positive result, we only had less than 24h to prepare the new challenges, and we didn't perform as well as in the first stage. However, we still resulted as the 9th best team overall in the worldwide robotic landscape and the best UK team 🚀 💭 It was a long and extremely tiring week, but a very formative experience for all the students involved in the activity. We got valuable insights about what we have to do next to further improve our performance, and we can't wait to compete again... Maybe next year in Brazil 🇧🇷 Lincoln Centre for Autonomous Systems (L-CAS) School of Computer Science, University of Lincoln University of Lincoln College of Health and Science, University of Lincoln EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Agri-Food Robotics: AgriFoRwArdS SAGA ROBOTICS // THORVALD
