🎓 Congratulations to students of the 2023-24 LMA Diploma in Football Management and the LMA Postgraduate Award in Strategic Leadership, who graduated from the University of Liverpool this week!

The LMA is pleased to announce that applications for the LMA Diploma in Football Management 2025-2026 are now open. Launched in 2002, the course has become the flagship qualification of the LMA Institute of Leadership & High Performance, sought after by managers and coaches and recognised by football club executives as part of their recruitment processes. The one-year course is accredited by the University of Liverpool and aims to compliment the game’s coaching qualifications. Applications will close at 5pm on Monday, 3rd February 2025. Recently, some of the Centre for Army Leadership team had the privilege of attending the League Managers Association (LMA) Annual Conference at The British Museum, exploring the themes of PERFORM and LEAD. The event brought together inspiring speakers from sport, business, and the military, sharing insights that resonated deeply with our work at the Centre for Army Leadership. Key takeaways included: 🔑 The Power of Influence: Leaders set the tone—lead by example, and your team will follow. 🛡️ Psychological Safety: Growth thrives where failure is seen as a learning opportunity. ⏸️ The Importance of Pause: Taking a moment to reflect often leads to better decisions. 🧘♂️ Personalised Wellbeing: Balance is unique to each individual—there’s no one-size-fits-all. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect and reflect on the parallels between high-performance sport and military leadership. The latest LMA & LCA Masterclass of the season took place at St George’s Park recently. Centered around Career Development, Charlie Mulraine delivered a session on navigating career transitions, whilst Sarah Hopkins, M Econ Sc, FREC led a job interviews workshop, covering presentations, preparation and techniques. The event concluded with a Q&A with LMA Members Rene Meulensteen and Terry Connor, who both provided fascinating insights into their respective careers.
