This Grief Awareness Week, we're taking time to consider this difficult aspect of life. While a common experience, grief and loss is different for everyone. Grieving is not a mental health problem, but it can affect your mental health. And it can be a very isolating time in people's lives. We may not know how to react to a friend or loved one who is grieving. When we ourselves experience it, we may feel like we are not doing it 'right': taking too long, or not showing the correct emotions. This Grief Awareness Week let's try to understand grief, so that people can grieve their loss at their own pace, with the support they need, and find their own path through their new normal. Transforming loss into a tool for a better life | Join our crowdfunding till Sunday (£15-£3k contribution) | Founder of Legacy Compass and Lasae | Speaker and storyteller | Unltd Social Innovation Award winner

Our crowdfunding is live for just another week: join us at Legacy Compass in transforming loss into a tool for a better life. Why do I keep doing it? Because losing my parents was the worst thing that happened to me. And, in a very complex way, the best. (I'm shaking in writing it down). It showed me how I want to live and gave me the strength to live to the fullest. We at Legacy Compass want to bring that to you, too. 🎁 What can you gain? - writing prompts to help you write letters with meaningful questions to your loved ones, - access to our platform, - legacy planning workshops to help you and your family members plan, - an artwork to remember that loss and life are very much connected More than anything, the support, tools and inspiration to navigate one of the hardest - but potentially most transformative - journey of your life. 👉 Perks range from £10 to £3k. My passion for VC is driven by the founders - people who are dedicated, take action, and bring a positive change to entire industries. Some industries are more analogue than others, and some are easier to innovate in. Inspired by one such founder and a good friend of mine, Natalia Pazzaglia, I decided to take a closer look at the Legacy Tech (or Death Tech) industry she is innovating in. Natalia & Legacy Compass is at the beginning of her journey to change the status quo in legacy planning and make it easier for all parties involved to plan, talk, and prepare. Legacy Tech is one of those "hard to crack" industries and a difficult topic to think about—as a quick illustration, in G7 countries, only 30-40% of adults have a will. But it's a universal event that will happen whether we want it to or not, which creates a massive (and often overlooked) opportunity. Here are a few takeaways about the industry: - Legacy Tech Redefining Our Relationship with Mortality: Legacy Tech is integrating technology into end-of-life experiences, challenging long-held taboos, and reshaping how we perceive mortality. - Ethical Questions About Digital Legacies: It raises important ethical considerations regarding digital legacies and data privacy, especially concerning personal information after death. - AI Simulations Prompting Deep Reflections: The use of AI to simulate interactions with the deceased leads to profound reflections on identity, memory, and what it means to be human. - Empowering End-of-Life Planning: Death Tech empowers individuals in end-of-life planning, granting greater control and easing the emotional burden on loved ones. What about professionals who are talented but "unconventional"? Last week, I spoke with many friends - extremely gifted, bright, with high-paid, successful jobs - who are struggling. Whether it is lack of purpose, creativity or freedom, they are not finding that the career that seemed right at the beginning is right for them now (30s, 40s) As per me, I had a tough couple of weeks with #startup life. So, today I made a list of what I have gained - and had to give up - in embracing the #entrepreneurial journey. MY GAINS: 1️⃣ Purpose – connecting all the dots in my life. 2️⃣ Identity & Authenticity – Legacy Compass is aligned with who I am 3️⃣ Freedom – I set my work hours and boundaries 4️⃣ Personal & Professional Growth – Fast-paced learning, gave up perfectionism and the tendency to take things personally 5️⃣ Community – never felt as connected as now 6️⃣ Creativity & High Standards – Building with passion and pushing myself to create better every day. WHAT I HAD TO GIVE UP: ⏳ Time: I work almost 11 hrs per day, Mon-Saturday 💰 Bootstrapping for a year has been a real challenge 🛋️ Comfort: it's all about uncertainty and making mistakes; this has put my whole life under a proper stress test 🪢 Responsibilities and stress Do you relate? If you want to give it a go, we have a #socialmediamarketingmanager freelancer collaboration open #diaryofthedeathgirl #legacyplanning #startup #femalefounders #linkedinchallenge  #femalefoundersrise #entrepreneurship #inspiration #Leadership #socialmediamarketing #founderslife #FounderMonday
