This Grief Awareness Week, we're taking time to consider this difficult aspect of life. While a common experience, grief and loss is different for everyone. Grieving is not a mental health problem, but it can affect your mental health. And it can be a very isolating time in people's lives. We may not know how to react to a friend or loved one who is grieving. When we ourselves experience it, we may feel like we are not doing it 'right': taking too long, or not showing the correct emotions. This Grief Awareness Week let's try to understand grief, so that people can grieve their loss at their own pace, with the support they need, and find their own path through their new normal.
