Earlier this month, law firms, barristers, in-house counsel and many more descended on the Queen Elizabeth II Centre for the annual Legal Business Financial and Regulatory Disputes Summit 2024 - a fantastic opportunity to network, make new connections and hear the latest on the key legal issues facing the sector. The Legal 500 is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Greater China guide. This year's results saw substantial growth in the region's legal sector, with almost 1550 over rankings across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. A big shout out to King & Wood Mallesons, Baker McKenzie, Zhong Lun Law Firm, Fangda Partners, Clifford Chance who have the most tier one rankings across the region. This year, our China regional coverage expanded to Shaanxi province, and we are delighted to see 11 firms being ranked as leading firms in Xi'an. Over in Hong Kong, fintech and financial services regulatory was researched for the first time, and a mix of market leading global and local firms have been recognised for their excellence in this fast-growing area for the first time. We continue to feature fast growing firms in the Firms to Watch category and in this year's guide over 70 firms are ranked and we are very pleased to see that 21 previously firms that were previously ranked as Firms to Watch entered into the ranking this year. Referees across the world continue to provide great support to our research, and this year we saw over 10% increase in the total number of responses we have received.
