⚡️ A brand new accelerator is launching in Leicester aimed at developing innovative solutions to social challenges. The Social Innovation Accelerator is designed to empower people from the city who want to tackle a social problem with a novel idea. Through the 8-week programme (starting in February), participants will undertake workshops, mentoring, and practical support, whilst exploring key aspects of social enterprise development, including idea generation, business planning, and impact measurement. The Accelerator is being run by the Social Innovation People CiC, which is a partnership between Chris Shaw and Stacey Wragg- a team with 40 years’ experience. More here: https://lnkd.in/eTc-8Dwc

Startups in Leicester and Leicestershire working in medtech and life sciences are being urged to enter regional business awards Medilink Midlands Business Awards are taking place in May and aim to showcase the strength of the industry across the region. New Year, New Startup 🚀 A Leicester founder has launched a new startup which aims to improve the employability of students Raja K., a former Leicester Startups Accelerator participant, has recently unveiled ServingAmbition.com. The startup aims to connect students with companies that require interns in a variety of fields, including law, finance, marketing and computer science. The internships are 100% remote, flexible and on-demand. The site is now available for students to sign up and for businesses to post internship opportunities. As we head into a new year, here's how our 2024 unwrapped.... 🤝 We partnered with our three local universities on the first ever VentureVersity programme ⬅️ We moved out of our co-working space 🚗 We started a monthly 'On Tour' popup co-working day and hosted 5 across the city and county 🗓️ We held two Create Growth Fund workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs  ⚡️ We ran the 7th Leicester Startups Accelerator and Demo Day 🎄 We organised our first ever Christmas Mixer A massive thanks to everyone who joined and supported the community this year.
