Last Friday we attended an incredibly exciting and inspiring event on how we can collectively create an innovative and inclusive Robin Hood Experience for Nottinghamshire, and how we can develop and celebrate the iconic legend of Robin Hood. Our vision for Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre was to re-invent the current buildings prominent character and identity, creating a vibrant mixed use destination for shoppers, tourists and city workers; breathing new life into the wider area. The retail elements of the design were complemented with a significant quantity of Grade A office space, destination dining terraces on the roof and a market hall at basement level. Incredible news for our projects in Sheffield! Last night the Heart of the City masterplan won 'Outstanding Project of the Year' at the Sheffield Design Awards 2024. Furthermore, the incredible Leahs Yard won the 'Conservation Award'. Leonard Design has worked on the Heart of the City masterplan since inception and has designed multiple buildings within the development through to completion, including Grosvenor House, Isaacs Building, Burgess House and the restoration of Laycock House. The multi-million pound mixed-use development has transformed Sheffield City Centre. It has been a pleasure working with Sheffield City Council and the project team over the past 10 years, including Queensberry , Turner & Townsend, Arup and Lathams! Nestled within the centre of the masterplans sits the magnificent Leah's Yard, a conservation project that has restored the Grade II* Listed space from a derelict building to a bustling community of local businesses focusing on arts and crafts. Leonard Design and Arup inherited the project within the masterplan and Lathams joined the team to take the scheme through planning to delivery.
